I really don’t know what to make of this as an army. Guess that it’s good but it feels like it’s kind of just rehashing stuff that we already have. And is there really any demand for it?
*shrugs* for the *shrug* god…
When do we get the fellow on the cover as a miniature?
The cases I am really un-impressed with, even in their video it shows models touching in the cases things like a Rhino and Dreadnought scratching paint off one another would not be the best way to transport a model
I bet no one wanted this. We already have CSM dex and CD dex with units of all four gods in them but now they release this that has just Khorne stuff from those two. I am expecting other three gods eventually getting similar dex.
I think its certainly a bit niche. However, by the sounds of it it brings a cool mechanic called a blood tithe whereby for every unit destroyed you get a tally point. You can then spend these to summon/ get extra gifts. I think eight and you get to bring on a greater demon……so definately designed to encourage a lot of fluffy carnage!
Nice cover art. It’s a shame they didn’t use this as an opportunity to update those old Berzerker models though.
I feel the same as Nomination regarding the army. It seems a little of a short cut using pre-existing models for the army, but there perhaps lies the genius of this launch. No cost for GW except the publishing of a codex. Interesting Move! I do however love this Blood Tithe mechanic after talking to my local GW Employee. My main cause of excitement for this launch has to be the cases! Being a SM Bike player myself I hated the old cases as I struggled to fit my converted bikes into their cells with out cutting the heck out… Read more »
GW sure knows how to spam their codexes
Can’t believe they’re still selling those old plastic Berserkers with the hopping legs and massive fists. If they’d taken the opportunity to model the chaos range on the DV Chosen rather than just re packaging old models for the 100th time this release might be interesting.
Thanks GW for another codex we so desperately been asking for NOT!!!
It makes perfect sense; there’s always been an overlap with regards to the Chaos Daemons from Fantasy and those in 40k. They’ve just released a bunch for the End of Times, GW would be silly not to get people using some of them in other systems. Chaos, as an aesthetic never really appealed to me, so I’ve never really been that fussed about models coming out for them. Khorne armies in the past (I can’t comment on how they play now), always seemed to have a relatively simplistic approach while there was wiggle room for other armies, which in turn… Read more »
It’s no secret that GWs cases have been in need of some work for a very very very long time. But if this too little too late do you think?! I mean there’s so many products on the market that are probably still going to be better and in a big way bit this is a good step in the right direction
Like the previous CEO said:”We just don’t want to know what our customers want.”.
A legitimate Codex IF done correctly i.e. if these pages have something akin to “Chapter Tactics” for several Khorne factions.
Which I doubt it will be.
The Chaos Marine/Warriors and their Daemon factions should NEVER have been disentangled from each other in the first place.
but that way they can sell more codexes, isnt it really that simple? 😛 splitting up warriors and daemons i mean
