Never played a 40K video game. If I wanted to buy, which would you guys say would be the best?
What do you like? I have always loved the Dawn of War Games but then I’m a big RTS fan 🙂
But if your a shooter/slasher kind of player then look out for the new Space Marine Game:

That depends on how good your PC is. If it’s low end then I’d recommend the DoW1 Platinum Edition (3 games in one). If your PC is fuelled by the Emprah himself then consider the DoW2 games. They do run on a sequential story, unlike the DoW1 games, so get DoW2, then Chaos Rising and then Retribution.

Is the deamon at the end suppose to be the one from the ending of the first DoW? I really hope it is.
I’ve been waiting for them to tie up that loose thread since I first played DoW…Would be really awesome if it was…:D

Awesome trailer the deamon looked like a normal deamon prince to me, I am concerned though, i have played the beta and i have not enjoyed it, multiplayer is rubbish, i just hope that and storyline is good and dosen’t follow the Dawn of war bad expansions after the first one. for instance. Also from what the previews say of the storyline for the marines, it won’t contiune DOW 1 story you don’t even play your force commander or Angelos it will be that marine from the honour guard from chaos rising. I liked the Dawn of War 2 campaign, sure it isn’t standard rts fare, but that’s why I like it. It’s more of a tactical RPG really, which is quite refreshing considering most other RPG’s to date.
It wasn’t that DOW 2 wasn’t an typical RTS that i didn’t like, it was the constant reuse of the same maps over and over agian but just with different starting points that got me, that ruined the singleplayer campaign for me, lack of variation. Chaos Rising did fix this problem but that campaign was too short, infact most of the features in Chaos Rising were supposed to be featured in vanllia DOW2. Anyway back to retribution. I am wondering which Chaos lord we will be playing? will Eliphas make another return???

I totally agree with you. It’s ridiculous to have the same maps being reused over and over like that. On top of that, 70% of the missions were drop pod insertion->fight your way to boss->Kill boss->???->Profit. There were quite a few absolutely stand out levels, though.
Chaos Rising was simply excellent. A bit short but it is an expansion (priced as a full game, mind).
Eliphas is back again. STILL a Black Legionnaire. I miss him as a Word Bearer…
now if only we could get this kind of quality out of a full length 40k movie.
I don’t mind RTS games, and have played DOW1 quite a bit, but am not a fan of base-building and resource collecting. I wanna get stuck right in. Also from what I read DOW 2 seemed to shrink the army sizes compared to DOW1, when I wanna see bigger fights. Would love to see a computer version of the actual tabletop game, kind of like a cross between 40K and the Total War computer games. Pick your army, deploy, FIGHT!
There is no base building. The closest thing to it is where you capture a power array you can build up to 3 power plants beside it but that’s it. It’s purely logistical and you never have to think about it after you’ve built them. The game is all about squad tactics but the multiplayer is utter shite. Great if you’re playing some friendlies with your mates but utterly coma-inducing boredom/tedium when playing against the formulaic pros online. Last Stand multiplayer is great. Just make sure your PC is powerful enough to run it.
dawn of war 2 trailers are sooo good
I’m preloading this on Steam as I type this. I can’t wait for it to come out next week. I’m sure that you can tell from my username that I’m a lolhueg fan of the Blood Ravens so this is going to be a big deal for me. Now I’ve got to get a model for Apollo Diomedes like I did for Gabriel Angelos and Davian Thule. I’ve got to put on Diomedes’ FOUR service studs myself, though. XD
I played about 36 hours of the beta and loved every second of it, the part i cant wait for is the campaign though. The Last Stand is gonna be cool playing as the Lord general he will be a great commander. I pre-ordered the Collectors edition so I cant wait to get my special wargear. This game is going to be awesome!
Yeah, although I still think that multiplayer online against randomers is absolute crap. I hope they did the campaign justice and advanced the story arc a bit.
Cant wait, been loving the Dawn Of War series, this looks to be the best installment they have done.

Found out an interesting thing about this trailer, apparently it was put together at the last minute and has got quite a few errors in it, My Video game/3d modeller tutor at uni asked us to watch this and see if we can spot any errors in it. So far i have managed to spot a few clipping problems with the marching chaos marines and noticed that the Terminators are very low poly as well as the witchhunter/inquistor? Also an error on the Terminators textures. As i said according to relic this was a very very last minute trailer.
And yet it’s unbelievably badass and urinates all over Ultramarines from a great height in terms of… well, everything. Even the plot is better. XD
