The Best Bit Of Warhammer 40,000 Ork Conversion Ever?
June 9, 2014 by brennon
With all this talk of conversion and that part of the hobby going the way of the dodo with Games Workshop we were refreshed to receive a tip off from a member of the site called D0G5T4R. See what you think of this utterly astounding Ork conversion/kit-bash from the manager of Games Workshop Manchester (Central)!
This chap has taken the idea that less is more and thrown it out of the window. Just look at that thing! There are guns on top of guns on top of guns!
The basic design of this massive Mega Mek (I think it's been described as some kind of Mekboy anyway!) was pretty awesome but the addition of that fusillade of guns on the shoulder just took this to the next level. This is truly the right way to kit-bash something Ork style!
For an idea of scale here is he standing next to a pitiful looking Eldar. I don't think it would be much effort for that big foot to just crunch him into a smear on the battlefield. It's not like this massive creation doesn't get played in games of Warhammer 40,000 either as this next image will attest!
So, I think we can agree that kit-bashing and making up funky miniatures from our bitz box is certainly not dead and the Orks have plenty of chances to make something brilliant! I don't think this is something that has to be kept to Orks either and there are plenty of opportunities to do something awesome!
What do you think of this mighty beast?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this!
Well done that man!
I literally just dribbled… Sooo much dakka…
Just went dakka in my pants…
So thats how you get your mustache wax, hehe 😉
Lol! That’s insane. Great work.
Looks amazing! Wonder how much it would have cost the average Joe to build this? /shudder to think. I think we would see a lot more awesome stuff like this if GW made and Ork scrapyard sprue.
You should check out his Space Wolf Conversions as well! Every time I go into the shop something makes my jaw drop!
It reminds me in a strange way of the old 25mm adventurer that was released..Carry everything including the kitchen sink
I see he’s a proponent of the ‘more=less’ theory.
Great conversion, but I can’t help but think of a turtle stuck on its back waving its limbs helplessly if that thing ever fell over…
😀
Just did a girly little hobby squeeeee.
That is ludicrous! All it needs is a retinue of 10 ork boyz following it around, keeping it loaded.
Love it.
not enough dakka
Paul (the Manager at GW Manchester) is an awesome guy. I worked a few times in that store when they needed an extra man. His Ork army has been growing and growing for over a decade now, with more obscene conversions. You should also check out the awesome gaming boards they have made, in particular the boards for Games Day.
that is quite impressive
I admire his skills and dedication but it’s way too much…stuff, for my tastes.
trust me guys its even nicer painted up and in person that cabinet is full of cool conversions that the master of GW Manchester Paul has done over the years
Ok… Now THAT is where I want to bring my conversion skills!
Do you remember the Jes Goodwin line about the silhouette of a mini being important? Plank that down on a gaming table and the other side will Express-shart into submission. It is insane and OTT but what the heck – it says ORKS BUILT ME!
Always inspiring stuff in GW Manchester, Paul is a smashing bloke and they really bring the best to the table be it minis, tables or Titans. And it’s not just 40k, I think it was Helms deep that spent a long time in the store window. A worthy visit for anyone passing through.
I remember helping out on the Helms Deep board. I think it is still in the window.
Nah the Helms Deep one is gone unfortunately. Now it’s the evil Disney castle they made for games day a couple of years ago and an Emperor Class titan.
It’s a shame they changed Games Day so individual stores no longer have to provide a display piece, Manchester’s was always incredible.
Well that is shit. I also helped out on Games Day 2003 with running the Skaven vs Lizardman game where it was the giant warp lightning cannon on the temple aimed at the moon.
Insane. But I think it is now canon in the setting?
I guess all their boards now are Realm of Battles boards…. boring.
Last seen stomping off across the battlefield looking for Ghazghkull!
now that’s what a ork titan should look like!!
Thats how to make use of a titans massive bulk 🙂 the orks it seems, are smarter than the imperium 😛
That…is the kind of crazy Ork stuff I like! 😀
this is the most beautiful thing I’ve seen in a long time… I LOVE IT!!
That is one awesome Knight Titan kitbash. I am in awe of the skill and cost of this epic Ork Titan.
