New Big Tyranid Beasts Strike Out For Warhammer 40,000
November 1, 2014 by brennon
Games Workshop, true to their leaks, have put up the Toxicrene and Maleceptor for pre-order on their webstore. As well as that fans of the seething masses will be able to pick up the Tyranid Dice Set as well if they so wish!
Above are the two beasts that come with rules in the newest White Dwarf that will be available today. It's hard to mock the sculpting of a Tyranid miniature since they are nearly always spot on but I still do wonder as to why they became the focal point of this stop gap between The End Times and The Glottkin and whatever is coming next week. Maybe the rumours are true and we're going to see a boxed set that focuses in on the conflict between the Blood Angels and the Tyranids similar to Sanctus Reach.
As well as the miniatures there are also some rather spiffing looking Tyranid Dice up for grabs from Games Workshop. I've always liked their special dice they do and I still wish I hadn't missed out on the awesome skull dice that came with the release of the newest edition of Warhammer Fantasy. Still, these are quite nifty and if you're a Tyranid player I could see these making their way into your collection.
Will you be getting any of this new loot for your army?

Hope the BA rumours are true. ive had a BA army in use since 87, ever since I saw the squad painted for the original 40k advert in wd
I have not been fan of BA that long (since 3rd ed) but I am also eagerly waiting update for them and box with nids would be great.
Those two models are solid nids.
I like the bottom one but it’s a moot point. Too rich for my blood.
Want!!!
GW seem determined to give the portmanteau a bad name.
So from what I’ve been reading these new bugs are from the same genes as the venomthrope and zoanthrope. Are Tyranids GW’s way of creating Pokémon?
“I choose you Maleceptor!”
… gotta cleanse them all 😉 ha ha
The Bottom one seems more practical to transport, so i say have fun with the top on if you glued the tentacle thingies on.
I’ve not done anything 40k related for about a year, passed on the last set of gribblys but the Toxicrene looks pretty cool. May treat myself. 😉
