The Big Mek Boshes Something Together For The Orks Of 40k
June 28, 2014 by brennon
Games Workshop have released some more miniatures for that expanding Ork horde of yours for Warhammer 40,000. See what you think of the latest pick of the bunch going up for pre-order. I have to say I do hope this Ork expansion is over soon!
We kick things off with a look at the Big Mek we spied earlier in the week with some other Powa Armoured Nobz which you can also see sold separately above. If that wasn't enough and you fancy some more mechanical mayhem then how about some Deff Dreads to stomp onto the battlefield to then burn away your enemies and make tanks into fancy cans o' beans.
If you want to mobilise your Ork horde then maybe it might be a good punt to head for the Deff Rolla Battlewagon and the Trukk Boyz who will be pressing that big red (or yellow) button and zooming towards your lines. It's good to see another boxed set that comes with the accompanying transport so when you're buying it you know exactly how it should be working together on the battlefield. It's also just convenience.
Have you been tempted by the Ork horde or are you staying away? I have to say I'm getting a bit tired of yellow now and would love to see them focus their attention on some Warhammer Fantasy armies!
What do you think?

The big mek is part of the meganobz kit
Hey, look! I got to a Ork post before it filled up with GW hate mail. Sarcasm aside I agree With Brennon, why do we have to slog through months of ork rumors, ork releases and orks in general after have a whopping 2 weeks for Wood Elves? Kits look great though despite what all the “GW can do no right” folk are saying. I know I have a few friends who are just happy to be done with metal mega nob blisters. The Deff rolla is nice, especially for us guys in the states where it was either conversion… Read more »
That is actually quite an achievement!
The designs are orky enough but I agree with far too much yellow. It makes the Bad Moons look like refuse collectors.
Now now they could be Iraq’s bin men health and safety you cant leave the vehicles without a yellow jacket.
There are no metal nob blisters… haven’t been for years. I’m not too bothered about this release, most of the models are fine – though they are hardly as classy as the new Wood Elves. Worried about the lack of variety in the HQ section. The price point on the meganobz is bit cruel. I will be really interested to know if GW continue their recent stupidity and refrain from bringing out an intelligent Ork battleforce seeing as the old one was removed. They removed the Wood Elf Battalion and replaced it with… an absurd all-tree army. So I’m really… Read more »
I love how GW’s brilliant, intelligent new website confuses even BoW’s crew ha ha.
I like the Mega Nobz, they look so much better with the studio paint job, but I’m surprised they went all Bad Moon on us as it’s a pretty divisive colour scheme, the Evil Suns look so much better IMHO. I also hope GW bring out a decent Ork set, as that’s what I’m waiting for. I like the Deff Dread set also.
My problem isn’t the colour it’s how clean the paint job is. Yellow as a colour looks great on the table – I really like Imperial Fists. But these are orks, they need more weathering, rust etc. the nobs could be wearing power armour it’s so clean. Bad moons are the flash tribe so I guess it fits fluff wise.
Really love the new Ork stuff, so much so that I’ve been tempted to start them but the dragging out of this release over several weeks has oddly dampened my enthusiasm…
I’m now cautiously awaiting the (much rumoured) Brettonian release before I make up my mind.
Loving the new Ork kits but I need my Sun Glasses due to so much Yellow! all in all with a weathered paint job and plenty of awesome, the new mini’s will look amazing on the battlefield!
The new Ork kits look really good if a bit price that is their major down side for me.
