BardicBroadcast Back With An Unboxing Of Necromunda: Underhive
December 18, 2018 by brennon
BardicBroadcast, who put forth the rather epic HeroQuest review a while back, has given his thoughts on the new Necromunda: Underhive game. His thoughts are actually well worth listening to, especially concerning the art and narrative.
Give the video a watch above and let us know what you think of his views.

Watched it last night. Good to see him back
Same here, hope he does more covering the recent rulebook and gang book release.
Very well done, for me the digital boards looked real naff starting with Sedition Wars, impossible to make out any of the lines. Faded looking, with those horrible… ‘orrible striation lines from the cardboard process, ya know those lines you see now in EVERY boardgame board. They’re used to keep strength but the stick out like a sore thumb! Excellence choice of words on these digital boards containing details that have a feeling that they ‘don’t belong’ there. I was amazed at how the hand drawn OOP Necromunda terrain mixed amazingly with the miniature you chose. That is also why… Read more »
I’m so happy he is back and hope he does more
@warzan – you should really get this guy to guest on a Weekender/XLBS at some point; wonder what you’d have to bribe him with to get him to join the OTT team? Mint in box 1st ed Heroquest maybe? ?
From other things I’ve listened to he is a role player rather than a miniature gamer though apparently he has a very small Sisters of battle army
This guy NEEDS to be hired as Tom Bombadil in the next LOTR series…
Or at least, make guest reviews as Tom Bombadil, full costume.
Tangential, but for those hardening back to Oldmunda, check out Premunda: https://www.scribd.com/book/192485578
I love the way this guy talks about games in such a fun way…. And I agree with every point he raised about marketing dictating modern game design and how the fluff has lost it’s unique underhive flavour. He’s completely right -older games were more fun (Yes, including Heroquest), and normally everything you needed came in the one box. Lovely minis in this new edition of Necromunda, but it’s cheaper to buy the old rule book than shell out for all the endless expansions that should have been included in the new core rulebook! That’s not just nostalgia on my… Read more »
A lot of old minis also have a charm that modern ones lack; often when you see pics of old minis that look bad it’s because of a combination of lower quality photography than now and the old paint jobs – all you have to do is see modern pics of them painted with modern techniques to see how wonderful they can be.
Couldn’t agree more – it’s just nice to mix old and new mini’s sometimes to get more different poses, though scale creep sometimes makes that hard in some games.
lol … “How dare they send stuff I’ve ordered”
I wish OTT/BoW would do unboxings like this.
lol if only we had just one unboxing to film a year!
lol sounds like the new games went more Judge Dredd in necromunda love the passion he has.
That was a great review. I’d be interested to know what he thinks about the game play itself, as well as the campaign rules.
So, I have to say, I have been a backstager with OTT for a long time, predominantly just as a lurker.
Checked out this guys stuff, just for a lark…
I love it! So funny! And his artistic critiques are so spot on! The best thing I have ever discovered from OTT!
