interesting way of doing the flesh tone, might give that a try on some of the more flesh heavy armies i have unpainted. I usually paint space marines, so i tend to do a more traditional layer and glaze approach mimicking the layers of dermis (dark red flesh tone, with lots of lighter layers building up to the end result, and some red washes to break up the even tone and make it look more realistic) as i only ever have a handful of mini with exposed flesh to deal with
I’m not convinced on the green tone in your skin colour. If I look in the mirror or at you during the vlog… well yeah… we are pink(ish). Your Lt. looks a bit ill or somehow related to the Hulk…
😉
But the armour is awesome.
@setesch I think i can see where john is going with this one, im betting a more pink/white layer goes on before dipping, with the dip taking on the role you would use a flesh wash for…
With the crew cut and that base skin tone, Boris Karloff’s Frankenstein’s monster came to mind, compared to the coloring of your hands.
@avernos, there be barrels here that need a drilling.
Looking forward to seeing how this force takes the dip.
the new marines are growing on me big time.
that first lt. made me think of Colossus…
I’ve never used green in flesh tones. I know a lot of people do and I’ve seen a lot of videos where it is used. But I’ve always had the impression that the model looks like they are about to bring their breakfast back up. Is my colour eye out? Is it a trick of the camera and lighting and it looks fine when you see it in person?
