Games Workshop has shown off some new sets coming on the 31st December for fans of Warhammer 40,000. Twelve new boxes have been collected together matching armoured might with infantry troops.

Space Marine Skyhammer

Of course you couldn't go far in Warhammer 40,000 without seeing a Space Marine and this gives you a good idea of what they have planned inside the Armoured Assault sets. Here you can see it's collected together a Drop Pod and a Tactical Squad.

Things are decidedly more gribbly when it comes to the Tyranids set which comes with a Tervigon ready to disgorge its payload.

Following on from that we also have the neat Dire Avengers Skyblade which might be a good way to complement the Getting Started Box for the Eldar.

The trundling Orks are also getting their standard load-out of a Trukk to get them stuck into battle too...

...and the Dark Eldar get themselves a Raider.

Dark Eldar SKysplinter

Effectively this gives you a neat way to pick up both the squad and their Dedicated Transport in one bundle. As Games Workshop stated you could pick up two of these and a HQ and you'd already have a working, fighting force.

Lastly, we'll return to the Power Armoured ones as we look at what you get in the Chaos Space Marine Boxed Set too.

Chaos Space Marine Desolator

Now, there are twelve of these in total covering each of the different factions available in Warhammer 40,000. They have even broken it down for the likes of the Space Wolves, Dark Angels and Blood Angels.

We've yet to hear a price but one hopes it's going to be a little bit of a saving!

What do you think of the idea?
