Forge World Armour Up In The Aurox Transport
April 21, 2018 by brennon
Forge World has added another model into the mix for your Horus Heresy-era games. Here we have the Aurox Armoured Transport.
"With the influx of material resources and template constructs recovered from newly compliant worlds throughout the expanding frontiers of the great crusade, early attempts were made to standardise the equipment and war machines of the Imperial Army. The Aurox Armoured Transport is one of the earliest examples of this vision of a single standard for equipping the Imperial Army.
The Aurox Armoured Transport is an armoured troop transport tank primarily used by various arms of the Imperial Army to carry veteran grenadier units to battle or to protect their commanders while dictating the course of battle. A further variant of the Aurox is used by the Solar Auxilia, re-fitted for extreme environmental conditions."
That is a rather nice looking vehicle. I don't normally like some of the Horus Heresy style vehicles but this one has an archaic charm to it. The exposed tracks and the bulkier armour give it a feel of an older vehicle.
Will you be snapping one of these up?

I like it More WWI/Russ old school like for mass production.
Looks like what you’d get if a Rhino and a Chimera had a child together and it wouldn’t take much conversion work for it to be able to pass as a variant of either one of you wanted to use it for 40k instead of 30k.
Oh… I wish FW had released this at Salute. They didn’t bring any solar auxilia with them so I ordered some at their stand for free postage. I would certainly have picked one of these beauties up if the release had come then. Treadheads United. 🙂
That is one interesting looking APC for Imperial Guard.
Strangely this brings back childhood memories of the old German Worild War I tank ‘Mephisto’ which was kept outside the old Queensland Museum*. We used to love that thing and while by no means identical it is ‘ringing the same bells” as that little tank . …… It is almost enough to get me to make a 30K army.
I just wish they would lose that WW1 tractor suspension. The vehicle just doesn’t suspend disbelief for me… and of course, the price is criminal.
