Don’t Let Armageddon Fall in Slitherine’s Next Warhammer 40k Game
November 18, 2014 by dracs
Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon, the new hex-based, turned-based strategy game developed by Flashback Games and The Lordz Games Studio, will be released by Slitherine on November 26th. Lead the Imperium against the Orks in this iconic war of Warhammer 40k.
Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon is set during the Second War for Armageddon. In this hex-based, turn-based game developed by Flashback Games and The Lordz Games Studio, players will lead the Imperial forces of the Armageddon Steel Legion and Space Marines from a variety of Chapters against the Ork invasion through over 30 scenarios, on the hostile terrain of the planet and its gigantic Hive Cities. The game features a complex plot, involving known characters from the Warhammer franchise and while advancing through the campaign, the player will have the ability to carryover his core force from scenario to scenario.
Slitherine have published a number of character portraits to introduce to some of the figures players will encounter in their endeavors to save Armageddon from the greenskins. Some of them are new faces, while others are iconic figures well known to fans of Warhammer 40k.
The Second War for Armageddon is one of the most iconic conflicts of Warhammer 40,000, arguably second only to the Horus Heresy. It is full of iconic characters and good story possibilities, so it is cool to see it explored in this new video game, which should hopefully bring us a new perspective upon the battle, along with a fun and challenging new RTS system for playing Warhammer 40k.
Will you join the fight in Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon?

Final liberation 2? Rites of war 2? Or a mix or the two?
Final liberation-ish is good enough for me 🙂 loved that game
Final Liberation indeed… The concept seems dated, especially for PC. We’ll see.
It sounds like a 40k version of Panzer Corps (also from Slitherine). If so, it’ll be fairly fun.
It looks exactly like Panzer Corps as just a change in unit types
I always loved the Armageddon background… cant wait to try out the game.
The screenshots of the game (why aren’t they shown in the article? :P) look great and I’d love to play it. 🙂
Good thing there were screenshots on the website … Im not interested anymore 😛 It looks more like Rites of War than final liberation. Really hate when they dont scale the units properly.
I don’t get why a wargamer would want to play this instead of a wargame. Not interested I’m afraid.
If you made a game where you played an inquisitor etc in an open world setting… Now that would be cool.
What’s the 26th month?…;-p
