New Age Of Sigmar & 40K Battleforces On The Way From Games Workshop
November 16, 2016 by brennon
Games Workshop has put together a preview showing off what's on the way for both Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000 in December. See what you make of the new Battleforces...
First off we have four different sets for Age of Sigmar. You could pick from Stormcast Eternals, Ironjawz, Sylvaneth and the Khorne Bloodbound. Each of them look rather epic but I reckon I'd have to go for either the Sylvaneth or Stormcast Eternal one to bolster the forces of Order.
Heading towards the grim darkness of the far future you can also snap up a Battleforce for the Space Wolves, Tau Empire, Adeptus Mechanicus and Deathwatch. It's interesting that they've gone with two Space Marine boxes to show off here rather than including the likes of the Eldar or the Necrons.
Either way, this is a fantastic looking selection of boxes to help get you off your feet in either of their games. The Age of Sigmar boxes would provide a good starting point for Path to Glory and for Warhammer 40,00 you could always play out a few Kill Team games before you got stuck into the game properly.
Which of them would you choose?

I want some of these. I wonder if much money is saved
I’d be enormously surprised if you didn’t save yourself some money buying this boxed set vs buying everything separately, considering all the boxed sets of recent memory have done so.
The boxes are rumoured to cost 100£ so you will surely save some.
With € prices the Stormcast box has the biggest saving of the AoS boxes, I think it will be the same in £.
I would not call GW having two from those 40k ones being marines interesting as it was to be expected. Instead it would had been interesting if they had went with Eldar or some other choice instead.
yeah, 40k especially needs to show that there are more races than just Sigmarites with guns.
Then again … it’s probably what sells best.
To be fair, the boxed armies for both AoS and 40k, (or models in them), are all relatively new and thus won’t be made out of date by new releases.
Not really sure what you’d put in an Eldar box that hasn’t been made already, or would be interesting. Ideally you’d hope for some kind of Swordwind host, but most of them are resin anyway.
looks like an average saving of about £60 ish
I’m tempted by the Tau and Mechanicus boxes..but I’m gonna wait and see if I can get them for a reduced price at some stage later.
Too many projects as it is at the moment..!
all these new boxes and no ultramarines shocked and stunned.
Better start saving my dollarydoos.
@brennon thematic army selction for 8th 😉
These look really good sets to expand beyond the Starter boxes. My interest would be the Adeptus Mech and this set includes all of the desirable options to take the Starter set up to a very decent sized force with plenty of variety. Bravo.
Ones that appeal to me: all but space wolves for 40k, all except Ironjawz for AoS
