New 40K Terrain Tiles from Realm of Battle!
June 25, 2014 by deltagamegirl22
It looks like the 40K gamers are in for a treat as Lords Of War offered a sneak peak at the upcoming new terrain tile from Forge World. This new tile is for the Imperial Sector Realm of Battle board.
The tile has a very urban look and will surely be a great addition to your table. The tile should be available within the next month. Better start making room of your tables!
How would this look on your game table?

I dread the thought of the price tag of a full table of them. But I would wager the quality is superb.
It would be extremely cool if the buildings from the Imperial Sector scenery kit from GW fit on this tile. It would make for a wickedly cool diorama!
Where does the Forge World bit of info comes from? Lords of War commented on the image with “It will be plastic citadel.”.
Actually the Zone Mortalis stuff is pretty good value. It IS expensive, but it is good value for the amount of stuff you’re getting (without considering quality, just the raw amount — try building equivalent setups with something else for less).
But I’m wondering what’s the news here really? They are already offering multiple styles of 40K battleboards, 75GBP per 2×2 section for the flatter ones and 90GBP for something with buildings on it. There’s even a small discount for a set of four.
i like the zone mortalis, and would love to do some games but as you say it is expensive.I am surpripsed thay have not done a WHF dungeon version. The city scape on looks but i wonder if they are just making one and not a few different types to join it ?
So £300 to build a 4×4 table?
Don’t forgeworld already do a cities of death set of tiles?
looking in a bit more detail it appears it could be a GW Realm of Battle board set. This could be interesting depending on the price tag. £300 for the FW set of 4 if this is similar to the other set at £175 for 6 tiles its not too bad though it is always cheaper to make your own as the guys are showing with the Hobby Lab content 🙂
Making your own to these levels of detail is a huge amount of work. I know, I’ve done it multiple times…
If you’re the type of person who plays with the Primer Brigade because there’s no time to paint the models, I won’t be holding my breath for your terrain project either… that’s the target audience for this stuff.
That said, my Games & Gears boards should be arriving shortly… I hope.
Like the aesthetic of it – but would probably only ever use it as inspiration to make my own! Shame, as nice as some of the tiles they’ve produced look, they’re rarely awesome enough that they could divert me away from trying to do my own imitation at a fraction of the cost like @number32 says…
