What armour where the loyalist Sons of Horus using?
SoH were mostly Mk4 IIRC. Horus made sure his boys had nothing but the best long before the heresy. Of course Mk3 would be fine to mix in too and could represent Horus giving the new stuff to those most loyal to him.
Thanks, better get myself a Calth box set then.
Horus pioneered the Cataphractii suits with the Luna Wolves and they were the first to devise tactics for their use. The Sons of Horus and the Iron Hands had the most of these suits come the Horus Heresy.

Really like how you’re taking those two box sets and making them your own, without going so crazy we can’t follow along.
Nice job with the builds so far John. Loved the wolf with the axe, thought that was a nice touch!
Great to see the progress on this 30k stuff!
Completely ruined those Space Wolves by sticking bits of old dog all over them!
I’ve gone with the 80s (not 90s) Space Wolves logos on a polished silver armor and kept the lines clean
I love the way you can mix the 30K suits in units with the new plastics the 40K troops look boring with only beaky troops to mix things up plus the old suits look old but are more advanced technically.
You can use the mk6 models in 30k in small numbers. They were notably used by the Agents of Malcador the sigilite including Garro and Varon in the Audiobook series.
Just trying ot start up in 30k going for the Imperial Fists myself, got a Betrayal at Calth set along with the Fists command
I’ve a small force of Imperial fists Marines and terminators from Calth along with a Forgeworld Scorpius. I bought the forge world shoulder pads but prefer the decals from the decal sheet.
I was really tempted to go grab the forgeworld shoulder pads as well but just the increased cost was really too much, can’t justify it at all when for the same price I could grab another calth and an army book or something.
