Prepare for the Next Stage of the Dragon Age Saga
April 22, 2014 by dracs
The prophecy has been fulfilled! The new Dragon Age Inquisition game, possibly my most anticipated game of the year, is fast approaching, as a release date of October 7th is announced along with the awesome cover art.
Even more exciting than this is the reveal of a new gameplay trailer.
So far things are looking pretty promising. Dragon Age has always had a very cinematic style of gameplay and from the looks of this trailer BioWare have built upon this for the latest installment.
Throw in an interesting story and the return of memorable characters from the series and all I can say is roll on October!
Will you be joining the Inquisition this year?
The trailer looks good but…I don’t know. Bioware really hasn’t been the same since EA gobbled them up.
The first Dragon Age was one of my favorite RPGs of all time. I actually played through it multiple times which is a rarity for me these days. DA2 was such a huge let down and don’t get me started on how the Mass Effect series ended…
Destiny is my most anticipated game. Building a PC just for Destiny using guides from all around but a good place to start is ‘Lifehacker’ website.
Dragon Age was one of the best RPG games I ever played and the world itself was brilliantly dark. Loved it and I’ve been into the Dragon Age PnP RPG ever since. Dragon Age II on the other hand, while creating an interesting world add-on for Kirkwall was a bit of a flop. The combat was just strange too…
I think, and indeed hope, that Inquisition is a return to form for the Dragon Age world AND it will mean Set 3 finally comes out for the tabletop game I hope!!!!

I haven’t played any of the games in the series yet, just hasn’t been interesting enough to me to give me a reason to play. Maybe this last game might be enough to spike my interest.
Put me down as another who really enjoyed DA but thought DA2 was a damp squib.
Surprisingly I really enjoyed DA2. It was nowhere near as good as Origins, but I still found it a fun and engaging game, if frustratingly limited.
Maybe I should dig up my copy of DA and actually play it… except I need to finish Dark Souls first… now THAT would make a fabulous miniatures game and a superb gaming terrain project….
I loved Dragon Age origins, and mostly enjoyed Dragon Age 2 but nowhere near as much as I did origins. One of the things that badly let down Dragon Age 2 for me was the lack of imagination, most of the missions seemed to be in the same places over and over again, kind of like the makers couldn’t be arsed and just did a copy and paste. I preferred the combat mechanics in Dragon Age 2 though, so if they can take the best of both games and put them into Inquisition it should be something very sweet indeed.
In defense of Dragon Age 2, they had a much shorter release window to get the game completed compared to Origins. I think DA2 was done in 2 years compared to the 5+ years of Origins.
Inquisition will have had 3 years I believe but also a lot bigger budget so hopefully it’ll be good.
Incidentally, I’m just about to start a Dragon Age RPG P+P campaign next week and would like any advice on it. I’ll be the DM.
They also tend to freely admit how much they screwed up with DA2. – They specifically mention it in the ‘Final Hours of Mass Effect 3’ video thingy.
My problem with DA2 is that I pretty much managed to do *every* optional thing wrong in it with the worst conclusion possible. Every single thing.
