Join the Wild Hunt in The Witcher 3

The Witcher, the dark fantasy video game RPG series, is back for a third installment and is currently available for pre-order!
The Witcher 3 sees you once again in the role of Geralt of Rivia, the legendary Witcher known as the White Wolf, being sent after a mysterious woman with white hair.
However, there is worse to come as she is apparently being followed by the blood thirsty otherworldly army known as the Wild Hunt, who are rampaging across the country leaving carnage and slaughter in its.
Seems like a bit of a tall order even for this mighty Witcher.
The Witcher is one of those game series that have been on my radar for a while now. I picked up both of them while they were on sale at Steam, but have yet to find the time to give them a go.
This new installment promises to build upon the dark and gritty atmosphere of the previous two, with plenty of monster hunting and sex to keep the player interested. Whether it will measure up we will have to wait and find out.
Are you a Witcher fan? Are the previous two games worth a try?

If you haven’t played this series before, DO IT. The first two are available for a very reasonable price on Steam, and are both excellent.
I played through the first and loved it, it’s a gritty and detailed fantasy world and would really lend itself to a mature RPG separate to the main characters. It has a fairly decent replay value too, before you even start in on fan-made mods and adventures. Sadly I will need a vastly superior gaming PC to what I currently have to play the second or third installments.
They are not only worth a try I highly recomend them 🙂 Only little disadvantage is their age. Graphic wise you can tell they’re not the newest game on the market.
He looks like Jaimie Lannister
Lannister looks like Gerald if you want to compare them.
They are great games and definitely worth a try. The first one may be showing its age a bit, but the setting, story and character development is still top drawer, and the second one is even better; the depth and complexity of the RPG mechanics, the beautiful game world, the complex, non-linear story – it is a triumph in its genre Now for the only real downside – for a series that markets itself as a ‘mature RPG’, the attitude the games have toward women is atrocious and obnoxiously peurile. It almost feels like the game was created with an… Read more »
Women part in geralt life has more sence if you read books but in books women/ witches are very powerful and play with Geralt (and not only including world secret society rules by witcher that decide about fate of countries )a lot.
Loved playing Baldur’s gate that looks even better.
Wait… that king/emperor guys voice… Is that Charles Dance? you know, Tywin Lanister??
Just checked, it is him^^
I thought I recognised the voice. So, Tywin Lanister is now the Nilfgaardian Emperor? The guy with the really rather Game of Thrones-ish nickname of ‘the White Flame Dancing on the Barrows of his Enemies’? That is all kinds of awesome.
He is also the Patrician of Ankh-Morpork
Though probably still best known for The Jewel in the Crown
Looking forward to this one, I loved the first two
I am SUPER looking forward to this.
It’s become a tradition for me to watch this trailer 5 times a day.
I have mixed feelings really. I played the 1st one a few months ago, and to be fair found it a very frustrating grind, with crappy combat and all kinds of weird little bugs. I then installed the 2nd one but after about an hour had to give up as the weird mouse lag issues in the game were driving me crazy and there seems no way of fixing all of them. I should have really bought a gamepad by now, as the game looks a lot better than the 1st, but I don’t want to do that for just… Read more »
