Dead Space FREE On EA’s Origin Until 8th Of May!

One of the biggest horror adventure games of the past few years, Dead Space, is now free on EA's Origin platform until the 8th of May 2014. This is quite the dark and dangerous game and well worth a punt, especially for free!
The game sees you aboard the USG Ishimura searching for the truth surrounding a mysterious alien artefact. One of the main mechanics of the game is the ability to dismember your enemies using a range of weapons. It's no longer a viable option to just pump the enemy full of bullets as they will continue to advance and rip you apart. Cut them into pieces first!
One of the coolest things about this game, and it sounds like a small thing, is his actual suit. I love the look of it and it's no wonder that it inspired a few other board game piece reincarnations.
I think this one's well worth picking up and it's free so who can complain?
Did you play it back around release?
Dead Space was quite a surprise to me.. because after the motion comic they released I was sure that it wasn’t going to live up to the hype it was starting to generate. But elements like the sound design, the interesting (IMHO!) story and the lack of an in-game hud really added up to a pretty special action survival horror game. ..and best of all, just when you start to think that you’ve had enough of traipsing down dark corridors.. the game ends! So it’s just the right length to boot. At a price of free, you can’t really say… Read more »
Never played game but loved the films.
Dead Space is one of my all time favorite games, and a true survival horror experience.
The game continuously lure’s you into a false sense of security, when your sure somethings about to happen, it doesn’t, and as soon as you let your guard down all hell breaks loose.
To get the best out of this game you should play it alone, with headphones on in a dimly lit room with the volume up. This will also increase the chance that you will, at least on one occasion be scared half to death, enjoy.
My buddy Steve did a lot of the art in this game 🙂
Got the first and third games a few months ago in the Humble Bundle but haven’t got round to playing them.
Don’t bother if you have a Mac…..
I don’t think you could pay me to try this game again. Bought it years ago, but the PC port has some major problems concerning mouse-lag, linked to V-sync and frame rate, that made it really unplayable for me. Spent more time trying to fix the problem (to no avail) than I did playing the game.
Wow… Ok… EA is being really friendly, thanks for the news 🙂
