Aliens: Fireteam Video Game Pits You Against The Hive
March 10, 2021 by brennon
As a bit of an aside to normal tabletop gaming news, I thought it would be fun to share the news of a new Aliens video game coming this summer. Aliens: Fireteam will pit you and two friends against Xenomorphs in a frantic struggle against terrifying foes.
Aliens: Fireteam Trailer
Fireteam has you playing as one of five different classes - Gunner, Demolisher, Technician, Doc and Recon - as you seek to take on the Xenomorphs and corrupted Weyland-Yutani Synthetic as you try to complete objectives across an array of different maps.
Aliens: Fireteam Gameplay
As well as being able to tackle traditional Xenomorphs that you know, love and hate from the movies you'll also be tackling a bunch of new aliens which have been designed for the game. Additionally, there will also be a Challenge Card system built into the game meaning that once you're done with the campaign you can go back and make it extra challenging.
Play It Out On The Tabletop?
Twining things with our own tabletop world, I thought it might even be fun to try and recreate the scenarios from the video game using miniatures! Gale Force Nine have their excellent range of miniatures from Aliens: Another Glorious Day In The Corps which would be perfect for this!
You might even want to revisit the situations in a roleplaying setting using the Alien RPG from Free League Publishing!
Will you be checking Aliens: Fireteam out?

It remains to be seen if this will be good or another “colonial marines” disaster…
I don’t think anything can be as bad as Colonial Marines. At least they let a games journalist play a decent chunk of the game this time around.
Hope dies last 😉 Let’s hope for the best.
Ooh does look good fun way better than the one you spend half the time hiding in things.
Alien, the ultimate scifi horror setting, and one of my personal favorite movies. But man, they cant seem to make a game that is objectively good lately. Fingers crossed, but I keep my expectations low.
