October 6, 2022 by brennon
Victrix has now released their brand new Late Roman Unarmoured Infantry for you to use during the fall of one of the mightiest empires in History. Fight on the frontiers against barbarian hordes with these new 28mm plastic miniatures.
Late Roman Unarmoured Infantry - Painted // Victrix
This set comes with enough bits for you to make thirty-six Late Roman warriors. They can be armed with a variety of different weapons like swords and spears alongside a selection of spears. You can also use them to represent both the Romano-British warriors fighting during the period plus Germanic Auxiliary and such that might have been drafted into service.

You could also use them as Arthurian, Early Byzantines, Goths and Germanic warriors depending on how you paint them and what bitz you pick.

You can now use these as the core of your warband or army when diving into Ancient and Dark Age wargames. You could very nicely match these against some of the metal ranges out there, perhaps those from Footsore, to make some excellent warbands.
As well as the Late Roman Unarmoured Infantry, we also got a peek at some of the new Heavy Cavalry coming soon.
Late Roman Heavy Cavalry // Victrix
This shows off just some of the new plastic Heavy Cavalry that is going to be thundering into the heart of battle. You could use these to represent Arthur's knights if you want to go down the more Dark Age/Historical route rather than exploring the Medieval vibe that we get from the later poems.
As well as the Heavy Cavalry, we will also be getting Light Cavalry, Horse Archers, Cataphracts, Archers/Slingers and Armoured Infantry. So, everything that you'd need to make a Late Roman force.
Are you going to be snapping up these new Late Romans?

Beautiful models. With some head swaps from Etsy, the cavalry could easily be used as proxies for Rohan.
Great, I’ll have some. Can’t wait to see the armoured troops. Don’t have any particular use for them right now but they’ll stand in very nicely as an excuse to dabble in Dragon/Lion Rampant. Do like the cavalry, only where the arms meet the armour could have been done better.
Fab figures for gaming with. did the Roman battle horns make a noise like the Celtic one’s that freaked them out.
