Vampire: The Eternal Struggle Card Game Returns
April 26, 2018 by dracs
White Wolf Publishing has announced that they are working with Black Chantry Productions to relaunch the classic collectable card game Vampire: The Eternal Struggle.
Vampire: The Eternal Struggle was among the first wave of collectable card games back during the nineties. It proved very popular and still has a following eight years after it ceased production in 2010.
Now, Black Chantry are seeking on bringing the game back.
“We are really excited to do this, together with White Wolf Entertainment. Players all over the world have hungered for new cards for eight long years, and we are proud to serve. And of course, we aim to attract many new players too”, says Hugh Angseesing, CEO of Black Chantry Productions.
Vampire: The Eternal Struggle has been called the best multiplayer collectable card game ever published. It is loved for its blend of strategy and social interaction, set in the classic urban horror game setting World of Darkness, home of the role-playing game Vampire: The Masquerade.
Black Chantry have said that they will be working with White Wolf to fit the card game with their view for the World of Darkness setting, focusing on creating a "transmedia experience – all sorts of games and fiction set in the same shared world."
The game will be kicking off with a bunch of reprint and expansion bundles:
- Lost Kindred expansion bundle
- Keepers of Tradition reprint bundle One
- Keepers of Tradition reprint bundle Two
- Heirs to the Blood reprint bundle One
- Heirs to the Blood reprint bundle Two
Vampire: The Eternal Struggle is a game I have heard a lot about, but I sadly missed out on. I am very excited to see it making a resurgence, as it is a game I know a lot of people have a great deal of love for.

As some one who has played Vampire The Eternal Struggle back in day I am exited about this news. Seems like just like vampires that it features this game won’t stay dead either.
This sound quite interesting do they go into the powers vampires use?
I also missed out on this as it peaked during a period where I had little interest in CCGs. So it wouldn’t hurt to pick up a starter deck or two, right? What’s the worst that could possibly happen? 😉
Totally agree this is the best multiplayer CCG ever made, I couldn’t be more excited to play it again! I played everything before Gehenna (2004) and have not found a better card game ever since.. Hoping more people want to play in my city 🙂
Was / is it a blind buy Collectible Card Game? Or like FFG’s Living Card Games, do you know what you’re buying and can plan your purchases?
Least it was CCG and based on that I would say that it will also come back as one not be turned into LCG. So if buying blind booster packs isn’t your thing then this one won’t be for you.
That’s incorrect; BC has been clear that they’re not doing boosters and are transitioning to a LCG-like model instead, as evidenced by the first reprint bundles (Keepers of Tradition 1 & 2) and the new Lost Kindred expansion that are now available to buy on DriveThruRPG.
I was an old VTM player, but I never got into VTES. This has gott my attention though, so I’ve gone and ordered a pile of old starters from . . . Finland . . . . Anyway, I’m hopeful some other folks in my neck of the woods pick it up as well.
BC are promising beginner-friendly releases (I would guess some sort of preconstructed starter decks?) in the future, so that ought to help bring in some new blood.
