TURN 8… Xmas Special… Part 2
December 15, 2011 by beerogre
That's right guys... tonight on the TURN 8 Xmas Special we gave out our fantastic Beastie Awards 2011!
Our Beasties are our unique, hand sculpted trophies in the catagories of...
- Coolest Innovation of the Year Award
- The One to Watch Award
- The Tip-Top Quality Award
- The Wink-Wink... Nudge... Nudge Award (for bits that in no way infringe on anyone's IP)
- The Award for Epic Win of the Year... and the dreaded Epic Fail of the Year!
This isn't be one of those drab yearly internet awards where you get badges or any of that malarkey... these are proper awards to put on your shelf!
Remember you can tweet us @beastsofwar but remember to include the #beastsofwar tag when contacting us.
I hope you enjoyed our show... Merry Xmas and well see you live again in the New Year!
Help, my eyes are bleeding. I’ve been blinded by the sublime horror of the Darrinator. I feel so violated. The horror, the horror.
Happy Christmas BoW.
2012: The Year Go For Your Guns hits production.
One can dream, right?
Fantastic show guys – Warren says he’s going to show Romain his C.O.C.K and Sam and Justin simultaneously facepalm. Then the truly unforgettable Time Of The Mindbleach came – Darrell’s arse out on display. Priceless. 😀
As to the new name for Nine Men’s Morris, If I’m being serious I’d plump for something like Nine Planet’s Peril, but I’m a simple guy with simple tastes really so…Bonerchess. That ought to work for a bit of light-hearted family fun. Anyone fancy a game of Bonerchess? 😉
9 mens morris should be box in a box in a box.
and there is a 15mm sci-fi game that i know of, gruntz sci-fi. from what i hear it’s not to bad (never tried it myself, the models are too small for me).
A box in a box in a box was already done, it was the MC Escher roleplay game, it was pretty good but the rules for stairs were a bit convoluted,
Diabolical Interplanetary Cosmic Killers was a suggestion for the name too, which would even have its own festive Justin Timberlake theme song for the box set…
@beerogre It’s cool to hear someone else enthusing about The Inquisitorial Henchmen Warband, ‘cos it’s what I’ve been collecting for over the past couple of months as it has the most interesting choices of minis; really crazy characters, and the potential to have guardsmen in power armour, with storm bolters and melta bombs! For me it’s all about making models that fits the 40K universe, rather than an army list, and the freedom in the Henchmen Warband entry to add characterful minis is what it’s all about for me and too much of a good opportunity to miss out on.… Read more »
Did someone say Epic!!
why i only see, “justin tv” in my screen and when i press played i see the add. but no movie ???
i only have that problems vieuwing “turn 8” seccions, i have changed a lott of settings on my pc, no results. please advice….
Maybe wait for it to load a little more…
And there’s a minute or two of silence and the BoW logo at first, maybe skip through that.
There doesn’t seem to be a problem for most people. Let us know if you still have trouble watching…
I’d have to say grey knights should have won. Not only as a great starter army with small model numbers and relatively easy paint but as a model option. There are only 2 basic boxes (knights and terminators) and the detail in those models is so far in advance of all the other forces, ok a little harder to put together but the option to individualise without having to modify or buy accesories has to be a big epic win.
