Relics… the build up to release
April 25, 2011 by beerogre
Relics, the new stitchpunk skirmish game from Tor Gaming, is moving to an alpha test version on Thursday.
The game will initially launch with a dozen profiles for the Britanans, Orcnar and Vaettir.
However, to get you all in the mood, we'll be posting some Relics fiction over the next few days to lead up to the launch of the game.
Look out for the first installment tomorrow.
But if you just can't wait... here's the link to the fiction section on the Tor Gaming website.

I like some of the minis, but I am bothered by two things…
First, the game had better be good, because I can’t see myself using those minis for something else, and I don’t think i’d buy most of them for the sake of painting them.
Second, I don’t see where they’re going with that universe… It’s weird, which is good, but it’s also slightly off putting to me.
I’m sure many people disagree with me, including within the BoW Team, but it’s just my two cents… It does make me eager to see exactly where they’re going, though !

Hey Romain You can’t please all of the people all of the time, and we sure as hell aren’t going to try. 😉 The Universe is weird, you’re right. We could have gone with something much more main stream, but then that’s already been done before and where’s the fun in that? We went down the route we did because we wanted it to stand above what is already out there. The gaming industry is already full of High Elves, Orcs, Dwarves etc etc etc. So, why bother? We do really hope you like what we do, but if you… Read more »
To clarify my position, I believe your minis are above and beyond what many companies make, no question about it… They really stand out a lot from the mainstream, and that may be why I can’t find a spot for them in my collection. This universe of yours seems weird. Weird can be good… Weird is certainly intriguing and interesting. It just takes some getting used to ! And your empire dolls are quite endearing. In any case, it shows promise, and I wish you all the best : Our hobby needs more choice, more weirdness, more games, and more… Read more »
Thanks Romain, and no worries or need to clarify your position. I was just trying to get across to everyone that we don’t expect everyone to like what we do.
I’m hoping that as we build the universe more, it will become easier for people to get used too, but not being ‘mainstream’ can make it hard to get used to, just as you say. 😉
I think the dolls would make a pretty cool alternative Imperial Guard army. I Just need to make some tanks and heavy weapons for them…… A doll with a Heavy Bolter, come get some!!!!
Only 2 things stopping me getting some Relics right away: Time and cash.
Love the little Redcoats and will get some eventually even if not to play with.
Need to get to Games Emporium in Sheffield for supplies soon so if they have some in stock I may be a bit naughty and annoy the bank manager! lol
You live in Sheffield?
Am in South Yorks Just a 40 min train journey from Sheffield 😀
