Titan-Forge’s Metal Beards Get Hardy Anvilborn Warriors
June 30, 2015 by brennon
Titan-Forge have added another set of miniatures to their Metal Beards range which is their take on a mechanical Dwarf army. See what you make of the Anvilborn Warriors below who are most certainly the front line of defense when the holds get assaulted in the mountains...
I think this is a great range of models and although I'm not such a fan of the brighter colours in there (I think I'd make them a bit more grimier) but it certainly does help to break up the constant amount of metal on show. There should be a lot more models in this range coming out soon too.
You could easily try and slip these into a Kings of War army or indeed potentially find a use for them in the new version of Warhammer Fantasy, Age of Sigmar.
What do you think of them?

These look pretty sweet! I could definitely see these being used in Kings of War or they have enough of a sci-fi vibe they could be used in Deadzone/Warpath for Forge Fathers. I wish Titan-Forge would also offer these miniatures in a 5 pack because I would like to use them in a Savage Worlds RPG, but I don’t need 10.
These look great… why resin though.
Resin arms and weapons are not good for gaming with.
What would you suggest as an alternative?
The fluctuating price of metals stops most companies from making in metal these days and the initial outlay cost of plastic injection moulding is also highly prohibitive.
There really is no better option than resin for smaller companies.
Also, yes, they look awesome.
Sadly what you have written is true.
Resin is just not a good material for small pieces if you want to game with them though.
Small bumps break weapons and arms.
It is fine for display pieces, or chunky single piece figures, but I want to game with my minis so unless it is Metal or Plastic I will avoid it.
Sorry, the ‘why resin’ was not a real question, it was more a statement of frustration.
