In bed with a stonking great cold, but got the weekender to see me through it
Get well soon mate!
I’ve got my Sci Fi set from the Kickstarter and it’s awesome!
There are three Space Hulk expansions hitting iTunes. Ultramarines, Space Wolves, and Dark Angels.
And they appear to be reprints of the original white dwarf articles. Which they are now charging £10 each for.
Or between 3 and 4 times the cost of the entire magazine they each appeared in.
Good night from mexico!!!!…I still have the DEEP SPACE ASSAULT CONSOLE from back in 2009 😀
Oooh, I’d love to see jungle trees and all sorts of nasty traps- perhaps even mountainous sides to make valleys or simulate an underwater trench *cue kraken noises*. Fantastic work as always guys!
The fantasy set looks awesome, guess it’s time to head back to Kickstarter. Wish I’d have got involved for the sci-fi set. (Hint, hint, hint.) Speaking of which, while pre-ordering my copy of Space Hulk, I found that GW plans to have 3 different digital add-ons for it detailing Ultramarines, Deathwing and Space Wolves with new scenarios and rules for each. Makes me want to get some of the suggested Terminator sets, but I’m really disappointed that the downloads are only for iPads, not Androids or PC/Macs. Get on the stick, GW. Thankfully, at least they didn’t price them as… Read more »
Ooh, yeah, I’d like to see caverns (although irregular walls could be difficult) and Greek style temple complex with column, altars and such.
Another great episode as always!
About Space Hulks… i’ll play Deadzone and make missions inside infested spaceships and see how can surive inside it… and leave or reach the planet alive… The cost of space hulk is just too much and i don’t feel the product matches it. I’ll buy first the videogame and see if i fall in love with it.
About Battle System i’m really interested in get it but at the moment i don’t have games that require that much terrain, but is truly amazing and it will work perfect with Deadzone… not sure with Warmahordes, never tried multilevel.
Ok.. I want sewers!
lol The sewers had that effect one me too
Warren, the original expansions for space hulk were not fan based, but published in the White Dwarf. The covered the use of space elves, harlequins, imperial guard and orcs for missions in space hulk, replacing the terminators. Played quite a few of these back in the day, with the extra tiles that were also included in the White Dwarf to expand the first edition maps. One day I will have to dig through the crap and give you the WD numbers they came in and a few photo’s of the guff.
Yup I’m sure, but I was definitely referring to a bunch of fan based stuff I saw on the internet back then (including solo rules etc ) 🙂
THERE IS SOMETHING THAT IS CALLED ( sorry caps lock) space hulk bible – pdf that you can download from web, it has all the rules including both expansions – all official GW stuff not fan made.
you can download it from my blog

I was a it wrong about it it is fan made but all the content is from space hulk firs edition, expation deathwing and genestealers , spacehulk campaints and articles from white dwarf and citadel jurnal.
The Carnivale KS kicks off at 9am GMT. It would be an odd decision to release a limited run Space Hulk then release box set expansions that many people couldn’t use.
Yup at the time of filming, we we’re not sure how limited it was going to be unfortunately 🙁
Another great show guys. Missed Lloyd though.
So Warren… Which terrain do you preffer. Mantic or Battle Systems?
Ohh that’s a tricky one…
They are both pretty even, as they cancel out each other drawbacks. (one is already ‘painted’ or textured, the other is more permanent)
But they are both pretty quick to build, and with the BS stuff, once its up you are playing on something that is full colour ready to go.
Yeah hard call to make there… mmmmmmm
Nicely diplomatic answer. 🙂 lol
Have to say in all seriousness though. I’m the same. They both look so good I can’t choose between them. And there’s no reason why you couldn’t mix the two. 🙂
My friend went in for the Sci Fi Battlesystems for Deadzone. The idea is to have a 3 mat game with my fortifications on one side, his Battlesystems facility on the other and ruined no mans land in between. Then Play an epic game of capture the flag with recycling units. He just got his Battlesystems assembled so I’m hoping we can have an epic game of deadzone on them on Thursday!
Battlesystems terrain is awsome. Ive got the Sci’fi set, strongly thinking of getting the fantasy set after this show. But WHEN are we going to get a Steampunk/VSF/Victoriana terrain set? OR/AND a Modern terrain set? Imagine a street set with adjoining buildings in Steampunk/VSF/Victoriana. Imagine a Modern set including streets, motorways and a multilevel inside of a shopping mall or skyskraper. Imagine combining the Fanstasy sewer set with a Steampunk/VSF/Victoriana terrain set. Lower level sewer, next level street, and then building levels above that. Or zombiehunting in a three-level shopping mall. Or why not a Fantasy/Sci-fi Arabian Nights terrain set… Read more »
What a fantastic set of scenery, and the designer comes across as a very pleasant chap as we’ll 🙂
Forgot one terrain set I’d like to see. A WWI terrain set, to commenorate the Great War, with bunkers below ground, a trenchsystem and then ground level. WWI multilevel gaming, never done that before 🙂
That’d be awesome, but I’ve got no idea how they could go about doing bunkers underneath the ground.
I want a grotty back alley set for infinity! think bladerunner! lots of stalls and chinese signs, perspex windows, tight alleyways!
You know it makes sense!
I kind of hate to admit it, but my “suspension of disbelief” sense is failing me on the US character idea. A veteran of the Indian Wars, which depending on which tribe/region we’re talking about, mostly occurred in the antebellum (it really means post-war, usually the American Civil War) US walking around circa 1800 Venice, armed with Colt .45 revolvers which weren’t created until the 1870’s*? He would stand out like a fish out of water. Which, admittedly, the Carnevale world actually has as a regular occurrence. But still, not feelin’ it. *Other caliber Colt revolvers became popular circa 1850.
But kudos to the community for loads of good character ideas!
Come to think about it, this sounds much more like a Volsung character than a Carnivale one.
Great show guys. Battle Systems terrain does look amazing and even though I’m really not into fantasy, the new set looks even better than than the sci fi one. I’m looking forward to seeing what they do next.
nice to see you back 😉
Battle Systems, smashed it out of the park once again. Love their communication with the community.
I would love to see advanced alien internal. In the style of Protoss or Necron.
I missed the first run of Space Hulk 3rd edition. I have been a baker for the Battle Systems SciFi terrain and now have pre ordered a copy of SH. Now I’m looking forward to play one of the most awesome SiFi board games on the best looking 3D card board terrain!
I want the Battle Systems Sci-Fi set for my MERCS Recon Kickstarter. Sooo many minis coming.
Battle Systems KS are the nuts, easily the best I’ve been in (and that’s a LOT!) due to constant communication and updates – well done guy’s.
Great video guys. I’d love Battle Systems to create an updated version of the Necromunda Terrain, not just the towers and suspended walkways that came in the boxed set, but the additional bits in the expansions.
The originals sell for huge money on ebay, so there must be market. That kind of specific multi level setup is also useful for deadzone and infinity as well, and would provide a good add-on to the existing sci fi terrain.
Great show. Love that terrain. So many details in it.
