Darrell checks out the new Churchill Mk.VII from Warlord Games. This is going to be a model every WW2 history buff or tank nut is going to want to get there hands on...
Nice. More Warlord Unboxing!
In a 40K game? Unless Darrell’s hands are freakin’ huge, the scale is way off for that. It looks like the Churchill is only as wide as the body (sans tracks) of a Russ or Chimera. Looks more like 1/32 or 1/48 scale to me. Of course GW routinely makes models that are not realistically scaled, but this tank would have to fit into that environment.
Warlord Games vehicles are 1/56. The bulkiness of the minis plus the bigger height of a based mini makes the vehicles always look a bit too small.
1/32 would be too big for WW2 28mm, and still pretty big for 40K (which might be ok for the game). 1/48 is actually the best scale for based miniatures in 28mm/30mm IMHO.
Still, some people don´t mind the scale differences and Warlord Games offer some really nice models. I love the Russian river boat! Just hope they´ll lower the price on that one day.
Nice video, nice tank. I love watching your unboxings even if I don’t play the game. Great job!
Is it me or is there ‘bubbles’ in the resin on the front left hand side (inside or gun side) ?
i love this tank and its british used to no a guy who drove one from dday plus 10 to the endof the war
I’ve got one of these, it was great fun to put together and paint, scale wise, it might be a bit out of place in 40k, but I think that is more because 40k’s heroic 28mm is in reality 32mm and this is a solid 28mm.
Oh while this tank may not work alongside 40k miniatures in the same army I think it would look grand alongside a whole 40k force converted out of realistically proportioned figures.
this may sound stupid but i need some help i have two tanks im working on, a 1/35th KV-1 and a 1/72nd bradley (i know its not a tank but still) and when i try to do the tracks it wont work like i cant get the tracks right and when ever i try to line it up they just break a part can any one give me any advice on how to assemble the tracks on these tanks
If the tracks are made of individual tracks, you should build them piecemeal. glue together 5-6 individual tracks, then attach them to the tank. If you are working with plastic glue (not superglue) it should be easy to manipulate them after 1-2 minutes drying time.
Hope i could help.
Gotta love the Churchill and it’s boxy style. I had a lot of fun with these in the Company of heroes game.
This is identical to the Airfix Churchill Mk.VII tank.
Coincidence eh…?
