Brawling Gundabad Trolls Battle Iron Hills Dwarves From Forge World
March 17, 2017 by brennon
Forge World are bolstering the forces of both Evil and Good with some new releases for The Hobbit. Leading the way we have some new alternatives for the forces of Gundabad in the vein of armoured Trolls.
With a more traditional weapon, to begin with, we have the Gundabad Troll wielding a Crushing Club. These monstrous trolls are used to be in the heart of battle, laying waste to their foes with mighty blows that could shatter the bones of a mortal man.
Matching that particular Troll we have another with a pair of Scythe Gauntlets.
Armed with blades like this the Troll could easily traverse the mightiest wall and then start swinging around, scything down all enemies in its path. With the strength of a Troll behind these blades, the strongest Elven and Dwarven armour would be rent asunder.
The design of these Trolls is very much in keeping with how they were designed in the film which is meant to see and getting more of the troops for the Battle Of Five Armies can only mean we have more epicness to enjoy on the tabletop.
Stalwart Dwarves
Matching themselves against this reckless hate we have the gruff looking Iron Hills Dwarves including the Command with a hefty mattock, which is more of an axe.
This command element is then joined by some regular Troops, also armed with 'mattocks' ready to start cleaving their way through armour so they can get their Lords into the fray.
Surely these really should have just been called great axes, but no matter. Either way, these are some neat additions to the range which are now available to pre-order from the Forge World webstore.
What do you think of these big hefty fellows?

loving the new figures.
those are some badass looking trolls!
Those are really good.
Those trolls are fricken huge, they tower over the Gundabd Ogres and you can see they next to orcs in the photos. Dwarfs with mattocks are cool too but wish they came in a handy ten pack like the spear dwarfs.
Lovely models but sadly the pricing on these, dwarves especially, means a no from me. Trolls less so but I like scenario play, so I am backing away from the hobbit and sticking with my lord of the rings.
