World Works Games Announce Terraclips
August 6, 2010 by warzan
So the guys caught up with Denny from World Works Games to get the beef on Terra Clips their new terrain system (made for Malifaux).
I think World Works Games are on fire at the moment, they are so innovative with the terrain systems and the textures are becoming superb ( almost like Lloyd did them 😉 )
What's your opinion on paper terrain, I have always liked the idea (when executed properly) and i think for a game like Malufaux its a great simple way to have interesting gaming areas.
World Works PDF’s products are awesome, the only real downside is the cutting and gluing involved.
Now that is a thing of the past, really looking forward to picking up the terraclips system 🙂
Ive just nipped over to their site and i’m impressed, i particularly like the space ships/hulks.
I wonder if i could build a space hulk game, seeing how i came back to gaming a year late and missed the remade SH 🙁
I cant wait! will be amazing.
I have a few of the card sets (the cave works was the first set I got). Great little product they are. Looking forward to getting some of these new Terra Clips.
my personal view on paper terrain is that alot of the stuff is beautiful really nicely done ect. some of you may remember the GorkaMorka Ork Fortress from back in the day! however the downside to it us durability it always seems no matter how well you treat the sets the travel from storage to board is deadly so that is why i prefer the plastic and resin terrain
I am very glad these guys are getting attention on BoW. Ive followed them for like 4 years now, and I love their products. BoW should do a build of their terrainlinx himmelveil stuff
paper terrain is cool…
BUT…. one spilt drink or anything wet and well…. your hard work gets stains or turns to pulp
This was to be released at Gen Con, but they had some production issues and wanted to be sure of the quality before release. They wanted it on a heavier stock and felt the first run was too glossy. Once they fix those issues it should be released. Not sure of any actual date, but souldn’t be too far in the future.
i think that provides a great, quick alternative for many wargamers who dont have the time or want to spend the time to make terrain. I hope they do well.
Never fancied the paper terrain but the heavy card stock (think Warhamer Quest thickness) is a different animal
They really do a good job, but for us big table-top players, like 40k and so on, it’s not durable enough.
Paper, no matter how thick is, isn’t a proper material for terrain that will be actually used.
I have used there stuff once before when I got the hatti pack when RPGnow/RPGdrivethru were doing the donation runs.
I checked them out but they didn’t seem to go together as well as the fat dragon game stuff for the most part it was just tiles.
And the btw you print on a paper call card stock which is like three times the thickness of regular paper.
But I love dungeon tiles made by wizards and I would really like to see this terraclips system.
They always seem to put out high quality sets, some day soon I am going to have to download a few and try them out. The Himmelveil sets just look magnificant.
regards,
