Wilderness Encounters Coming Soon From Archon Studio
May 31, 2022 by brennon
The Dungeons & Lasers range from Archon Studio is coming back to Gamefound with a new set of encounters. This time around, your adventurers are going to be leaving the cities and their dungeons and heading out into the wilderness.
Dungeons & Lasers: Encounters // Archon Studio
The Gamefound campaign is currently available for you to preview, giving you a look at the brand new plastic 28/32mm terrain that they have been working on. Continuing with their themes from previous Dungeons & Lasers releases, the terrain will be modular, easy to paint and designed so that it works for gaming rather than just being flashy.
The first of the sets that has been previewed is The Elven Woods which comes with a game mat plus a selection of set-on terrain including rocky outcrops and twisted, gnarled trees.

You also get "mounts" allowing you to attach some trees to the rocky outcrops and plenty of other bits and bobs. The extra accessories here allow you to make camps that could be being used or could be the remnants of the last group of adventurers to brave the wilds.
If you're unfamiliar with the Dungeons & Lasers range then Archon has provided a neat breakdown of the various features.

What's quite nice is that the terrain is also going to be joined by a range of plastic miniatures. So, if you're looking to play out a full-blown adventure then you'll have the means to do so. It should be a good fit for Dungeons & Dragons or any of the other 5th Edition spin-offs.
More is to come ahead of the Gamefound launch but if you follow the project HERE then you could get yourself, get this, a Leshen!
Are you going to be checking this campaign out?

Fantastic looking terrain for game table’s.
That is some great looking terrain.
That is quite interesting. Trees for the hobby as it turns out can be quite expensive unless you make your own. It will be interesting to see much it is. Not quite sure about making the hills so you can see the models. Surely the whole point of hills is normally to block line of sight ?
These are more for Roleplaying games, then wargames. Atleast that has always been my assumption. Models need to be seen by everyone at the table, so I guess that is their thinking.
Various miniature skirmish games also give a height advantage. Hills also delay movement, which may be important in a miniature skirmish game. But, yeah, if you’re going to have rocks, someone’s going to want full cover. “Visible at full height” rocks means that you’re gonna have players who want to crouch which means you’re either going to have to remember who’s standing, or use tokens. Easier to have higher rocks, including stacker rocks.
Yeah I think I am going to back this. Just what I’m looking for.
There is a picture of the Swamp Biome out now. Showing different themed “dead” looking trees, docks, a boat, animal skeletons, and grass “islands”.
These are really looking awesome to me. So no doubt I will back, depending on the prices. I know the prices will be higher this time around.
Starter Pledge is €99 launch 14th June
