Explore New Weird Scenic Terrain From Spellcrow
August 31, 2018 by brennon
Spellcrow Miniatures has been showing off some new terrain that would be great for both Sci-Fi and Fantasy games. This Tathea Collection looks like it would be great for alien worlds or somewhere deep beneath the ground.
The larger Tathea Cactus Colony above breaks down into individual sections if you like but I think if you're going to get one of these, you might as well get the whole lot. These give me ideas for Ork terrain, fungal pustules that have grown up around their strange caves and warrens.
Shooting strange pox-filled gases into the air you also have the Tathea Cyst Fungus here. I like the idea of using this as part of an objective where your characters or troops have to plug it up to stop themselves from falling unconscious.
Lastly from our little preview we also have the Tathea Organic Swamp. I think this is the place where strange creatures bubble forth, stumbling out of the noxious chemical and shambling towards their foes.
All of this terrain would be very easy to paint as well. I reckon you could attack this with some airbrushing and drybrushing and you'd have some great looking terrain which would work across a number of genres.
What do you think?

Great looking terrain the strange cactus would look good on a death or jungle world the fungus growth for mines/dungeon’s and the mud pools can be on any table.
Good stuff!
would look great with my death guard, heavily polluted, fetid patch of jungle somewhere or be great for a nid infestation
“There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever Nurgle. Watch your feet.”
Those are some nice looking specific terrain.
