Warlord Games Build Themselves A Mighty Citadel From Plastic
April 10, 2016 by brennon
The folks at Warlord Games have heard our need for more Castles on the tabletop and they have answered with The Citadel which could fit into all manner of different eras. See what you make of it below...
The Medieval period onwards are inviting you to play out battles within this modular fortress. From sieges to skirmishes atop the walls or within its grounds we have plenty of ideas already brewing for this.
The wall sections and towers are separate allowing you to arrange them however you see fit. Twin that with the fact that we're going to be seeing more packs for this terrain in the near future and you could expand into something rather epic indeed.
Inside the towers we also have detailed interiors where you have staircases and doors modelled into the terrain. You might not be able to send models through these but it does help when you're planning out some kind of skirmish based game within the insides of a castle.
I think this could be a neat addition to most peoples tabletop terrain collections.
What do you think?

It looks good but I think the Renedra one looks better
bit pricey, looks to neat and modern for me.
looks brilliant but is expensive.
Your not wrong
Love to know why they designed it like that. Never seen a castle/fortified house that looked like that before
Looks quite a lot like a more compact version of Bodiam Castle to me:

Obviously missing the square gatehouses but would assume Warlord have made it modular and will add those later.
I agree with Zorg though, it is indeed bloody expensive.
Looks very similar to the now defunct Tabletop Workshop one! Looks like following the demise of that company Warlord stepped in.
You’re right there, it looks a lot like it. I didn’t think so just by looking at those pictures but I went and read Warlord’s website and it sounds just like it. I wonder if they’re going to release all the other bits that Tabletop Workshop made.
It actually reminds me of the old Airfix Roman marching fort
I meant Sheriff of Nottingham Castle
Very nice , but the price ! How many of those castle sets that Warren bought could you get for $300 US ?
All of them?
So it’s a citadel (in) miniature, from the ex GW guys! Don’t what they know I guess…
Gees the price .
I like the look of the castle, but the price with such limited info is not encouraging. Looking at the FB page of the business noted above shows some videos that make make the price shock subside:
