Hobby VLOG: Painting 40k & Star Wars Themed Terrain – Part Five
October 13, 2017 by johnlyons
While Micro Art Studio are racking up the pledges in the Tabletop Battlefields Kickstarter, we've asked John to rev up the Hobby engine and put his expertise to creating some amazing multi themed terrain for your Sci Fi games.

In the last episode we saw John throw some imaginary rocks at the terrain to show off that awesome terrain damage, it's time to simplify the tinting and highlighting areas for the ruined walls of the terrain as there's so much of it and get it ready to show off on the tabletop.
And boy, is this impressive or what?
What shall we get John to paint next?

John, you need to ad a light dusting of a sand color att the base of the buildings, to make them look a bit more lived in and tie in to the table more 🙂
but then it ties it to a single table. I much prefer it when they can be thrown onto any table that’s available without it looking out of place. There are some very nice lava and scifi tables I want to see them on ^^
This was a very nice video serie. I was really surprise about the shadow tints, very cool stuff.
As for the kickstarter, right now I can’t back anything xD but the imperial set looks great.
Great work @johnlyons I’ve really enjoyed some of the tips in this series.
Since the door to the hanger is made from foam, you should be able to cut the door from the frame, seal in the new edges, and end up with a hanger door you can remove as needed for reveals.
You have got to have a game on that big board layout there, it is a must. Well done John really cool terrain 🙂
epic setup!!! and thank for the tutorial. i need to dust off my airbrush and try some terrain myself.
the terrain looks fantastic down on the table.
