Last episode we had Lukasz in to discuss the potential colour schemes and types of terrain laid out on the table, now with the colours chosen, John's back in the cupboard, airbrush in hand ready to show off those beautiful tones for base colouring.

Question for John, why did you test your ghost tint color on white card to find the mix you were looking for only to apply the tint on a grey piece? Would it have been better to find the mix by testing it on a grey preprepared card stock instead? I would have thought that ghost tints are especially susceptible to changes in the underlying color.
You are right, and it is probably what I should have done. But, it was easier to show under camera how the tints worked, and in a way, the zenith on the buildings were almost white so it gave me an impression of what the brightest points would turn out to be.
Thanks. I don’t think of painting steps in terms of how it appears on camera. I can only imagine the difficulties it introduces into your work.
the building are starting to look great.
