Head To Sea In Sarissa’s Ironclad & Fight Over Sci-Fi Settlements
November 28, 2016 by brennon
Sarissa Precision are hitting up both the Steampunk and Historical side of things as well as the Sci-Fi with their new releases for the end of November.
Leading the way we have the Ironclad CSS Virginia 'Merrimack' which you could just see swarming with deck hands ready to repel attackers. These were actual ships that existed; how Steampunky and awesome is that!
There are a few other Ironclads out there from the Sarissa range you might want to consider picking up if you fancy doing a few battles between warring crews. While they do have a place in historical games I do reckon that they really belong with strange crews of tinkerers and boffins attaching all manner of weird weapons to the top deck.
Sci-Fi Ruins
As well as the Ironclad they are also heading to the stars with a new bundle of Ruined Sci-Fi Settlement Terrain.
Inside the set, you get some ruined Explorer Pods, a ruined Warehouse and also a ruined Settler Pod. Each of them looks like it has seen the brunt of warfare and been blasted open by energy weapons. These would be great for creating a devastated settlement on some far-flung world.
What stories would you tell with these pieces?

the ship looks brilliant as dues the damaged sci-fi.
Calling @commodorerob , calling @commodorerob … Come in, Rob. I think your dream miniatures may have arrived (assuming you can still use these for ACW river actions).
Merrimack looks super gorgeous! But where is Monitor the old brute??
The space ruins remind my of some of my first efforts building mdf scenery..
The Monitor along with a few other river ships are on the same website.
I have a problem. There’s so much great terrain stuff but not enough money to buy it. Is someone interested in buying a used kidney?
Haha I know exactly what you mean. More and more these days, I find myself drawn to new terrain (usually MDF) rather than new models.. and Sarissa do some really great stuff. There is some serious witchcraft going on with that Merrimack kit!
I’ve just ordered the Ruined Sci-Fi Settlement Terrain two days ago. Wait for the box now! ^^
I’ll create full terrains elements for my Beyond the Gates of Antares table (with some foliage, trees, etc. – should be as cool as hell! ^_^)
The sci-fi ruins would work out great for Dark Age.
Excellent. Now **that’s* original scenery.
lol @oriskany … actually its 28mm which is not my scale and without being too picky it is not a correct representation . The funnel is wrong and the pilot house is too large to name a couple of points that are wrong. So not very precise
