Sarissa Precision Eye The Borders With Roman Watchtower
November 5, 2019 by brennon
Sarissa Precision has got their eye on the frontier with the addition of a new terrain piece to their collection for Ancient wargamers. Here we have their new Roman Watchtower.
These Watchtowers were a good place for the soldiers of Rome to keep an eye on the goings-on across the Empire from a spot of relative safety. Soldiers would watch for encroaching armies and bands of miscreants and then if needed could send messengers when help was needed.
Messengers would often use them as a waystation too, a place for both them and their horses to rest. I reckon with a bit of dirt and grime up the side of it and perhaps a tattered banner flying from the top this would be great to see entrenched in the British countryside watching for angry Celts.
What do you think of this new piece?

Lovely jubbly! Perfect for SPQR or Clash of Spears!
A great looking guard tower.
Cool, can work just fine for watching the Rhine and desert frontiers in tbe east.
Might also work for a watch tower on the Saxon shore for some age of Aruther gameing.
