Sack O’ Skulls from Secret Weapon!
March 29, 2011 by beerogre
Secret Weaponhave not only just launched their new range of washes, but they've also released a must for any conversion junkies out there... a Sack O' Skulls!
A very useful resource for those who like to decorate their own bases or terrain. However, Secret Weapon have also released a couple of new sets of resin bases... the Urban Street set... which I think are pretty good.
... and the Mesa bases... which are a bit ordinary.
You could probably knock together something yourself out of a base and some milliput pretty quickly. Having made my own set of flagstone bases, I know that it's not too difficult to do and they're easy to mould and cast after you've made some masters.
What do you guys think? Have you ever made your own bases, or do you just buy resin cast bases?

The “Sack O’ Skulls” is accompanied by both human and buffalo skeleton releases as well. There are plenty of bones to go around!
And, yup, the Desert Mesa set is probably the simplest base set we make – but also one of the most requested. All four of the current Desert themes will join the round lip style in the future but I had enough requests for this one that I decided to get to it sooner instead of later.
Nothing wrong with plain bases… It lets you personalize them.
Thanks – that was actually one of the ideas for the bones. I’d hoped to release all three bone sets with the four Desert themed bases. Alas it didn’t quite work out that way 🙂
I noticed you don’t do square bases, though… Do you plan to in the future ?
Still I like that BoW Andy gives a personal comment. Makes the whole site more alive. Good tip, would never have found these oterwise, keep up the good work!
We always try to give an honest opinion here at BoW.
