Renaissance Miniatures Ready to Sail into the Sunset
August 5, 2014 by stvitusdancern
Renaissance Miniatures is ending up their Kickstarter for their pirates and wild west scenery.
This includes some ships that the decks can be separated for gaming and some really nice terrain to create an entire battle table.
If you are looking to add to your collection this might fit the bill. According to the website they are in 28mm scale and come pre painted.
There is a wide range of ships, buildings and a variety of scenery accessories.
Will you be hoisting the sails or coming into port?
Would love some of this. The diorama is stunning.
I can always dream.
Would be perfect for Freebooters’ fate
Wish they got a shout out here earlier in the kickstarter, but I backed for 425$ for the large port, bridge pack, salty dog inn, shipwreck, mine track pack, clocktower, and carriage. They will be perfect for Malifaux and my fishermen in Guild Ball.
They look nice. If people put the time into making nice sails and rigging it be awesome.
Just not fond of it. The way it fits together all I see is Lego. With a few sheets of foam core, another of polystyrene, and a bag of coffee stir sticks you could make all the buildings yourself for less than $50.
The ship looks cheap, with wooden dowel for masts instead of something tapered as an actual mast or bowsprit would be.
“Come all you young sailor men, listen to me,
I’ll sing you a song of the fish in the sea;
And it’s…
Windy weather, boys, stormy weather, boys,
When the wind blows, we’re all together, boys;
Blow ye winds westerly, blow ye winds, blow,
Jolly sou’wester, boys, steady she goes…’
