PWork Wargames Explore Their New Lostburg Mill Terrain Kit
March 10, 2023 by brennon
PWork Wargames has added a new 28mm terrain kit to their collection for those seeking to play out some Historical or Fantasy wargames. Explore the spooky Lostburg Mill where something terrible has clearly happened to the past occupants.

The kit is a big crumbling windmill crafted out of MDF and seems like it would be a great focal point for some of the scenarios in your tabletop games. It seems particularly well suited to skirmish wargames with plenty of space for you to play in and around it. I also like that it features plenty of ladders and such which allow your characters to sneak around and get up to higher vantage points.

I think that this would be an awesome place for a spooky ghost to haunt. You could have some terrible tale of murder and betrayal linked to it and your adventurers or skirmishing warband have been told to try and solve the mystery and banish the ghost.

The boarded-up elements that have been attached to the sides of the Mill also help to build on the profile of the piece and give it some added depth. It also means that you can break things up and paint different sections of the Mill in various woody colours.

As you can see from the image above, it is actually quite a hefty kit when it comes to scale too. A potentially daunting (and haunted!) building on the horizon for your heroes to explore. This feels like it would be great for a bit of classic Mordheim but also Frostgrave and a bit of The Silver Bayonet too. It also wouldn't look out of place in a Medieval game where rampaging armies have perhaps burned down the Mill to annoy an opposing Baron.
What do you make of this kit?

Oh, this looks lovely as a base to build upon. Some rags on the wings, a few stones here an there and something to slap on the walls. 8)
Good people of Marbaden, you are now free of your wretched spirit! The efforts of the Brothers Grimm have cleansed your fair city of the evil stain upon your land. (To paraphrase the film “The Brothers Grimm”)
