Micro Art Unearth More Hive Terrain & Set Up Road Blocks!
September 11, 2014 by brennon
Micro Art Studios have sent their scientists deep into the unexplored reaches of space and found a planet covered in more Hive terrain! See what you think of the Hive Crest and Hive Maw that will be infecting your battlefield. For Infinity you can also pick up some Road Barriers!
As you can see it's quite the deadly looking piece of kit and it's cool to have some more of this exotic fauna for you to play around with when constructing your board. I think it would be cool to make this look like it's some sleeping beast that winds around the table. Have the Crest be part of it's back poking out of the earth with the Maw its waiting open mouth capturing the unwary as they step inside. Cool for trapping big tanks as well as small infantry!
On the smaller and more civilised side of things we have some cool Road Blocks that you can use to create some cover on open areas of the battlefield. Now you can do a bit of cover, move, and fire with your Infinity fire teams! I think these would be awesome for a game like MERCS too as you could easily see these set up in some corporate warzone.
Do you think you'll be using this on the tabletop?

Bless the Maker and His water.
Bless the coming and going of Him.
May His passage cleanse the world.
May He keep the world for His people…
My thoughts exactly.
Just need a few kilos of sand and you’re got yourself a great table!
We were just talking a few days ago on a another thread about how you would represent Shai-Hulud or a similar critter within a tabletop environment. We also came up with the idea of only representing a few of the the creature’s body segments cresting the sands here and there and then modelling a suitably immense maw for chompin’. It appears that great minds do indeed think alike, as these kits seem like the ideal way of acheiving that look, and for the full Sandworm effect you could use them in 10mm or even 6mm games systems. @elromanoro your worth more than twice your weight of water LOL
Oops @elromanozo.
You know, I am suddenly feeling the need to rewatch the rather awesome pair of Dune mini series released a few years ago. I mean it has Ian McNeice as Baron Valdimir Harkonnen and James McAvoy as Leto Atreides the second. I always much preferred it to the David Lynch movie version.
Just got the Bluray of the old Lynch movie. I know Lynch fans and Lynch himself think this film is miss, but I think it’s a superb work.
Maybe it’s for the same reason I still see the rest of Mr Lynch’s work as pretentious and vapid.
I like Lynch’s version, even with the sometimes unneccessary deviations from the source material. I just like the mini series version more.
Then again, Gurney is played by Patrick Steward in the Lynch version, and you just have to love that.
Might try and get around to reading Dune.
Pretty sure I read the trilogy c1985.
Which is to say I have completely forgotten everything that happened
if you like the film you will love the books @chibi
I can’t remember a lot about the film either! lol
Am just about half way through Neil Gaiman’s American Gods so will be looking for something to read next.
That’s not a problem the rain at the end did not happen till the third or forth book because Lynch shortened the story’s to fit one film @chibi
“Long live the fighters!”
That lads, is a great idea! Already brainstorming.
The road barricades are good as well as the Dune / tyranid parts.
