November 21, 2023 by brennon
A surprise preview for Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game fans this week as the Dead Men Of Dunharrow are getting re-summoned to the battlefield in translucent plastic! Could you be tempted to snap these up to help enhance your army as it clashes on the fields of Pelennor?
King Of The Dead & Heralds - Translucent Plastic // Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game
Shop Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game @ Store.OnTableTop
Both the King Of The Dead & Heralds kit and the Warriors Of The Dead have been recast in clear plastic that has a spectral blue tint to it which gives you an immediate and unique impact on the tabletop. At this point, you don't even have to tinker with Contrast paints and drybrushing to achieve the desired effect.

Games Workshop mentioned that with a simple application of drybrushed whites and rusty metals, you can get some excellent-looking Dead Men Of Dunharrow without too much effort. Your Army Of The Dead will look spectacular as it swarms across the battlefield. Additionally, these miniatures will not replace the existing miniatures so they will find a home in collections.
Ruined Gondor Terrain
As well as the new Dead Men Of Dunharrow, you will also be able to pick up the ruined Osgiliath and Minas Tirith terrain but that won't be until next year.

Some of these terrain kits can still be found within the Battle Of Osgiliath Starter Set for Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game if you're eager to get your hands on them sooner rather than later. Whilst you'll have to wait until 2024 for the terrain, the new translucent plastic miniatures will be coming up for pre-order very soon.
What do you make of this unexpected addition to the range for Middle-earth?

*humms* I can see clearly now
Well, I didn’t see that coming! [I’ll get my coat]
Great looking releases both! Would be eager to pick up both, yet I’m not looking forward to the pre-order mayhem.
At last! I’ve been asking for translucent and transparent miniatures for years, perhaps even decades. I think i might have preferred untinted clear resin that would have enabled me to create a gradient of ‘glow’ using thin ink washes, though i don’t know how well that would actually work on such a large piece of resin. In any case, i expect i’ll be buying these in the near future.
