Mantic Games Build The Blasted Ruins Of The Far Future
May 28, 2014 by brennon
Mantic Games have been sneakily previewing some of their upcoming terrain for the Battlezone range. If you're looking for a ruined landscape then you can't do much better than this Ruined Terrain that's all broken and bent out of shape...
A massive set of terrain that's blasted and burnt while still fitting in with the general look and feel of the existing terrain. It even comes with some piles of rubble sorting rebar that becomes the staple of the 'ruined landscape' in so many games.
I like all the pieces of exposed flooring as well as the wall sections, it's always nice to have some levels to your gaming table. With the possibility of Warpath around the corner this could well be the perfect way to create a brilliant sci-fi game all from one company. Let's not forget Deadzone of course!
What do you think?

Always good to have another supplier of ruined terrain. I like the rubble sections that are designed to be placed against walls.
Not forgetting that this all works with the rest of the Deadzone terrain, if semi-ruined is your thing. Get your semi on!
Dude…
So my only small annoyance is … if those are modern sci-fi buildings made out of cargo containers, metal and plastic…
Then why are there piles of rubble around it that look like concrete, cement, bricks and stone?
Just seems odd. Looks great though, don’t get me wrong.
That’s actually a really good question. I hadn’t really looked that close, but you’re right. The rubble piles don’t look like they came from the walls or floors of the building they’re leaning against. It’s kind of disappointing for what is otherwise a really cool-looking product.
Yep good point. I was just thinking the concept was such a good idea I glazed over the material.
Should be good mixed with other buildings after all towns/cities aren’t all the same type of structures.
That’s true. Easy to use with other terrain, just puzzling why they chose the style difference.
