Kickstart Battle Ready Buildings From Chromacut Studio Soon!
October 18, 2023 by brennon
As this month is all about terrain here OnTableTop, it was neat to see that Chromacut Studio are going to be coming to Kickstarter soon with a campaign all about bringing you Battle Ready Buildings for use in your wargames!
Battle Ready Buildings // Chromacut Studio
The terrain that Chromacut is looking to produce is constructed using MDF but will be printed in full colour so that you won't need to paint it. The printing process uses a resin-bonded inking system which they say is durable, water-resistant and allows for the highly detailed terrain you see here.

The other bonus of their Battle Ready Buildings is that they are going to be easy to build and should allow you to make up some tabletops full of terrain very quickly. They also seem to have a good degree of depth and detail to them so they should make your miniatures pop too!
The terrain that we've seen from Chromacut at the moment is rather grimdark and gothic which should make it a solid choice for those wanting to make quick and easy Warhammer 40,000 tabletops. If you've just painted about 200 Tyranids, the last thing that you want to do is start working on terrain as well!

The Kickstarter is aiming to provide you with enough terrain to cover a tabletop with high-quality terrain with their Commander Pledge offering the initial range in full plus what is meant to be a rather "showstopping centrepiece" as they call it! I am rather intrigued as to what they plan to do with this campaign as backers come on board and we get to see their Stretch Goals and such.

If you want to see how the terrain looks against some miniatures from the Warhammer 40,000 range, you can check out their little teaser video below...
Welcome To Battle Ready Buildings!
Chromacut are hitting all the right notes for me. Pre-coloured saves me time when it comes to getting the terrain ready for the tabletop and if it's nice and easy to assemble as well then that is another added bonus. The way it all slots together seems to be nice and simple and I appreciate that Chromacut have also taken the time to add bits of detail here and there to break up all the straight lines.

If this preview has interested you then you can take a look at the website HERE and then consider heading on over to the Kickstarter Page where you can sign up to be notified as to when the campaign launches.
Could you be tempted by this terrain for use on your grimdark battlefields and beyond?

Looks nice but *very* 40k. Also I can see one or two candle burning in a ruined building but all including the one that obviously got hit on the far left…. a bit much in my book.
Agreed, love the idea, but too heavily slanted towards 40k for my tastes.
Hi – Kate from Chromacut Studio here – Thanks so much for the shout out, OnTableTop!
Thanks also @sundancer and @jamescutts – good spot with the candle – these were our prototypes and we have already improved the variation in the internals. Check out the Kickstarter when it launches for the latest versions and multiple themes.
We have plans for LOTS more terrain styles in the future – Grimdark isn’t the only game in town! Do check back for updates on what’s coming next.
will take a look but I’m not making many promises as… well: EU and brexit :S
But I’ll give it a look once it’s live. Have you set a date yet?
We really appreciate the support!
We are planning for November, but our priority is to be absolutely ready – we’ll be updating regularly 🙂
Anyone know more about this company? KS says, “0 created · 0 backed”
Battle Systems is my go-to for 2.5 terrain. More assembly, though.
Hi @ced1106 – we created Chromacut Studio for the Battle Ready Buildings Kickstarter (we’re hoping it’s just the beginning!). We are:
Kate (me) – cad (sketchup) developer, I’ve been gaming for many years, and involved in previous Kickstarters as a contributor.
Lee – in charge of production – is also the force behind Strata Miniatures, a veteran gamer and involved in other projects including successful Kickstarters.
We’ll be updating regularly on social media and also via email to anyone who signs up for updates on our website – http://www.chromacutstudio.com – we’d love if it you joined us!
