Gale Force Nine, Thunderhead Studio and War Scenery have announced a new range of 6mm and 28/32mm terrain for use in your tabletop wargames as part of their Battlefield In A Box range. We start with the small-scale stuff!

HexTech Walls - Gale Force Nine

HexTech Walls // Gale Force Nine

The HexTech range continues to expand with some more amazing pre-painted terrain for use in your games like BattleTech, Dropzone Commander, Legions Imperialis and more. A few militaristic kits were shown off including the massive walls that you see above and the Dropbase that might find itself inside those walls. Both of these sets look great for those setting up campaigns where you're pushing deep into enemy territory.

Sticking with the green theme but moving away from the militaristic terrain in 6mm, we also saw some gorgeous sets of trees. This will add some life to your tabletops and show that your world hasn't been completely blasted into oblivion yet.

I think these additions to the HexTech range look brilliant and it would be great to see where this expands in the future. We've seen some great urban terrain alongside some big, badlands pieces. I think this set, as well as just adding another colour into the mix, helps to set the scene for some interesting new scenarios on the tabletop.

You can check out our thoughts on the initial range of HexTech terrain here.

For those looking to take their 6mm wargames in a different direction, Gale Force Nine also mentioned the Mundus Imperialis range which is also produced in conjunction with Thunderhead Studio.

Municipal Depot - Gale Force Nine

This range has been designed so that it suits the likes of Legions Imperialis and your other grimdark tabletop games. It offers you a chance to get a small tabletop together on an epic scale very quickly without having to worry about the painting.

Hab Block B - Gale Force Nine

You need somewhere for your civilians to shelter so perhaps these could be a great objective in your games. Use these as a focus for your scenarios and have your big armies in games like Legions Imperialis have to protect them as the civilians escape off the table edge.

Civil Defence Bastion - Gale Force Nine

All of these pieces look fantastic and are going to be perfect for those people playing their epic games. Whether you're taking to the battlefield with your hulking mechs or with Traitors and Loyalists, you'll find something that should work for you.

New 28/32mm Battlefield In A Box Terrain

If you want to go up in scale and grab yourself some awesome terrain for your 28mm and 32mm wargames, how about the collaboration with War Scenery for this range of terrain?

Stronghold - Gale Force Nine

Split across two different styles, there are some great big buildings that you can slap down on the tabletop to really show off. Fans of a particular strategy game from a decade or so ago might be familiar with some of the designs that we're seeing here.

Machine Cult - Gale Force Nine

Currently, they have been previewing terrain pieces for the Chapter and United Frontier range. The pieces you're seeing right now (above and below) are for the Chapter collection and suit those who might prefer battling in their power armour.

Arsenal - Gale Force Nine

Chapter Bunker - Gale Force Nine

These are all prototypes but they're currently looking fantastic. As with a lot of the Battlefield In A Box range, it helps to cut down on the time you have to spend painting. If you want to go that extra mile though, you just need to apply a wash or some weathering products and away you go.

As well as the Chapter range, there is the above-mentioned United Frontier range which is perfect for those fighting for The Greater Good.

Listening Post - Gale Force Nine

Slap these down on your tabletops and make sure that your enemy knows they have wandered into your burgeoning empire. These look great and the sleek Sci-Fi style might be good for the grimdark future but it would also work with a lot of other Sci-Fi games as well.

Landing Pad - Gale Force Nine

There is a Listening Post, Landing Pad and also the Bunker which seems like a good centerpiece for your tabletops.

All of the terrain that you're seeing here is going to be available to pre-order in the coming months and will start hitting shelves in stores later this year in the third quarter of 2024. Whether you're looking to dive in at that epic scale or in 28mm/32mm, you've got some great options.

Will you be checking out these new collections?
