Get Battle Ready Buildings With Chromacut On Kickstarter
November 23, 2023 by brennon
Chromacut Studio has now launched its Kickstarter campaign for Battle Ready Buildings, a set of terrain that you can quickly and easily set up on the tabletop without any fuss. These seem like a great fit for those (like me) who get cold sweats when it comes to thinking about painting terrain!

The idea behind the terrain is to make it simple and easy for people to put down some awesome terrain that also looked super cool. I think that Chromacut Studio has managed to achieve that with the terrain that they are bringing to Kickstarter at the moment.

The base of the terrain is MDF but they have then gone with a high-definition printing process right onto the surface which should mean that it forms a hard-wearing bond that stands up to the rigours of tabletop wargaming. Additionally, if you're someone who is competitively minded then there are buildings amongst the collection that are WTC compliant meaning that this might be a good shout for a club or store that is looking to fill up their tables with nice-looking terrain.
Tough Design // Chromacut Studio
The designs that Chromacut have been working on so far have a distinctly "Grimdark" feel to them so they would be great for those looking to build up quick and easy tabletops for the likes of Warhammer 40,000. There are different designs within the pledge options allowing you to fight over both "safe" worlds and those that have been overrun by your foes!
What's quite nice about the terrain is that it also features modular elements so you can change your buildings to suit your needs. You can plug in different windows, doors and more to help add more detail to the pieces and maybe seal up a particular ruin so that a sniper can't get a bead right down the centre of the table!

I think this is a properly nifty idea and should be particularly great for those looking to dive into Warhammer 40,000, especially with the new edition dragging a lot of people back to the tabletop. I think the designs are poppy and remind me a lot of the classic Gothic Ruins (and the paper ones!) that people played with back in the day.
There are options for individuals, retailers and more over on the Kickstarter so if these have caught your eye, maybe go and give them a closer look.
Could you be tempted by Chromacut's Battle Ready Buildings?

Nope. But let me put that into perspective: I’m not backing it because it doesn’t fit into any game I play and it’s way to costly for me. I can see it being a thing for a club or a shop or someone who regularly does tournaments and campaigns but for the occasional gaming session it’s to expensive. Plus one more thing: when they where previewed here on OTT I pointed out that the insides don’t really match with the outside (lit candles etc) and Chromacut replied that they would look into it. Take a close look at all pictures… Read more »
do you know what a prototype is?
I do but after a month I’d think at least a mock up of a new interior design would be possible. But even with that aside it’s still nothing that works for me design wise and in a “bang for your buck” way.
Ooh that’s fab looking terrain.
