DeepCut Fight In Orbit With New Mat For Dropfleet Commander
October 18, 2016 by brennon
With Dropfleet Commander on the way from Hawk Wargames, the folks at DeepCut Studio have put together an Orbital Terrain Mat which is compatible with the game.
The mat is 4x4 in size and could be made of one of three materials including PVC, Cloth and 'Mousepad'. The artwork is by Jan Jasinski and it deserves a closer look!
You can some very nice details here including large lakes, maybe even seas, and the fluttering clouds across the whole mat add to the illusion.
All you need to do now is add those small city tokens to the mat from Hawk Wargames and you'd have a fantastic tabletop to play your games on. It's nice to have some alternative options!
What do you think?

Would have been good to see some industrial zones or cities on the map.
Those are the objectives so it make sense to leave them off
Yeah you place those on yourself and then fight for them, is my understanding.
looks good.
@brennon “All you need to do know is”? 1st time I have seen one of those slip by you
Thank you for spotting it!
Oh this looks interesting 🙂
I’m glad I kept my head and didn’t buy all the paper mats in the KS; these are probably the way to go. Does anyone have a preference on material? Mousepad seems a safe bet. I have some that are felt and the pilling sort of ruins it.
Nevermind, I actually read the descriptions and it seems the choices aren’t merely “the same but different”, each has its own defining purpose.
