Bubble Up Some Trouble in Fenris’ Black Cauldron
November 16, 2015 by dracs
Fenris Games are cooking up a storm as they work on their new terrain accessory for the budding necromancer or witch and send out their Black Cauldron to pre-order.
The image of a cauldron bubbling over with unknowable evils is instantly recognisable to each of us. I personally have always loved the cauldrons of a thousand poxes used by the Skaven in the old Warhammer Fantasy lore, and the inclusion of a piece like this would definitely help to establish the atmosphere of the setting.
However, with this piece I think that the tentacles coming out of the top rather ruin the effect. While I see what Fenris were going for, they look too rough, like they've been squeezed out of play dough, something that the texture of the cauldron itself doesn't do anything to dismiss.
What would you use such cauldron for?

I find Fenris’ models, in general, are too rough, and too chunky for my tastes.
That would look awesome in Dungeon Saga.
