Feel Safe Behind Mighty Walls & Towers By Tabletop World
September 11, 2016 by brennon
Tabletop World have added to their mighty castle set with both a selection of Fortified Towers and also some Town Walls too. See what you think...
This shows how the whole set would look like when you've added together the Town Gate plus the new Towers and the Wall sections. It's an impressive piece of terrain which would prove to be quite hard to siege!
With this you have a better look at how the walls look close up. They are heavily reinforced and while solid throughout you do have the big walkway on which to defend against interlopers.
The Tower is also an impressive piece which actually does have a removable top allowing you to get inside and have a scrap if you like. However I reckon you're just going to be flooding the walls with archers and picking off enemies from afar.
What do you think of these new terrain pieces?

Looks fantastic, but I’ll be needing a lottery win if I was ever to do it real justice.
Haha, totally!
I’ve heard you can pay for it by various means including paying with arms and legs or, if you want the full castle set, you can sacrifice your first born child.
Really?! So they accept sacrificial offerings of offspring as payment? Thats pretty good value. Where did I put that stanley knife……
So what are you waiting for? Sell your parents, siblings, wife, children, house and all your belongings so you can buy a heap of lottery tickets!
I sadly agree (I love their stuff though!! At some point I’m just going to break and bust my bank account!) … but compared to forge-world (at least for us in the USA) this stuff is a bargain!
Hey, Trump keeps saying he’s going to make some other people pay for his wall… And he’s apparently rich, so don’t feel bad.
Without looking, I can guess this is eye-wateringly expensive; but just imagine having the cash – and the room – to get a set of this stuff. We can dream, Beasts of War. We can dream!
Just looked at the wall sections and they are not too terrifying in price then I looked at the tower still not that bad, so just as I was starting to get a stupid idea I looked at the gatehouse. Yep that’s where the cost is . So as Bigdave said oh for a lottery win!
That does look a bit special, I will have to check my penny jar to see if I have enough 🙂
This sits in my soar point of why I would really love 3D printing, Just imagine having scans of and being able to make it on demand without bankrupting yourself you would be able to make the most amazing scenes.
Which with the new kickstarter going on at the moment has made me seriously consider getting a 3D printer. Sure it will be nothing but noodles for the rest of the year, and then maybe I can dream a down payment but it would be worth it.
If you had to buy a license for each individual part rather than the file as a one-off purchase, would that put you off? By which I mean, if you wanted ten towers, would you be happy to buy the file ten times (as each purchase will let you print the file out once), or would you only do it if you paid once for the file and then printed out as much as you want? We’ll assume that either way, it will be cheaper than the current process of the company paying for manufacture and distribution of the product… Read more »
I suspect if (and I agree that it is an if) home 3D printing takes off there will be some companies offering free CAD files and some offering DRM protected files containing limited prints. It’s also likely that the high end files such as tabletop world will be DRM controlled.
As it is at the moment it would be more likely cheaper to by direct from them than to print your own on a 3D printer. The cost of the printing substrate is not cheap and for a big object like the walls or tower would take up loads of printing compounds. Of course if you do so some research you can find 3D printers that use cheap substrates for printing but they tend to print garbage in comparison to the higher cost substrate printers. As it is at the moment the cost to print needs to come down more… Read more »
Indeed. I probably leapt ahead of myself a little there. I’m assuming in that scenario that 3D printing has become affordable and ubiquitous, which may never happen.
That entire range is great. Only one thing… I need someone to buy me it. It’s out of my price range of scratch built and free. 😛
Now with the joking aside, the price is not that high per section considering the size and quality. It’s when you add them all together it really hits the pocket book. I could see myself getting even a few sections for a diorama if I was good at doing things like that.
Really lovely. Apart from the Forgeworld like price tag..
Those look stunning. Too bad that it’s so expensive that most are unable to get full castle set.
Stunning… worth the money. I have a few of their pieces, and order more whenever I can. This has just been added to the list. Best medieval terrain out there.
Wow that is brilliant love the walls and towers & the gatehouse is magnificent but so is the price.
I’ve seen some of it set up at my local gaming store, it is gorgeous! Well worth it. Although I’d almost be afraid to paint it, lol
Actually surprisingly affordable on a per-part basis IMO. Sure it’s really expensive once you want a full table’s worth but even then, at 1422 Euros (£1200 / $1600) it isn’t actually that bad comapred to other companies. Similar size castle in plastic from Renedra would cost about 1/3-1/2 of that but not nearly as cool.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it its that even scratch-built terrain ends up costing you a fortune and won’t last as long.
if fantasy battles are your thing you might be tempted to pick this up even if you have to pick it up over a few years.
A club could buy it and use it as a centre piece for demo games at shows etc. Truly artistic stuff of legend.
gorgeous model
