Eskice Miniatures 3D Print Up The Omicron Industrial Sector
April 2, 2019 by brennon
Eskice Miniatures are on Kickstarter right now with their 3D printing project which is looking to bring the Omicron Industrial Sector to life for all of your Sci-Fi games. As with many of these new projects you'll be getting STL files to print at home.
The set has been designed to be quick and easy to print, themed towards battlefields like Warhammer 40,000, Infinity, Warpath and the like. All of the components that you'll get within the set can be arranged in a number of different ways to thanks to the OpenLOCK system which allows you to clip it all together.
You can see a video at the top of the page where the team behind the project work on putting together a tabletop. I like this for its industrial feel and the fact that it comes with the 'board' itself underneath all of the terrain features mean that you can build this in any space rather than having to use a proper board as a starting point.
As well as all of the standard terrain elements you'll see above the team have also been working on some great stretch goals and add-ons too. For example, you might be able to fit this rather awesome looking walker into the mix!
I could see this clanking around in the Underhive perhaps. Imagine if your gangs were fighting over control of this, looking to use it to lay waste to the other's territory!
Pledges & Stretch Goals
We've collected together the main pledge for this campaign which shows off the kind of STL files that you get when offering up your cash to this project.
This is just the basic set and you can upgrade this in a number of different ways with alternative add-ons and such. As well as that you've got a plethora of different additional features that you can print out...
I really like the look of the massive tower that they've included within the set and also that Spaceship with an entirely playable interior! I mean, that could make for an epic game where your gangs are fighting on the surface, get blasted off into the sky and then have to wrestle for control of the ship before it gets to its destination.
When it comes to these kinds of projects you've always got the cushion that it's not hard for them to develop and produce the STL files for you to take away with you. One hopes that they've done the work, which they seem to have done, in order to make these viable for you to print at home.
Maybe we'll take some time to print off some of their work and let you know how it works!
Drop your thoughts on the project below...

As 3D printing becomes a more and more accessible feature in peoples lives were definitely going to see more projects like this one.
Looks a great modular terrain system.
