Empires At War have some new terrain for you to use when building up your 28mm Ancient tabletops, especially those based around the expansion of the Roman Empire. Two new Fort kits can be picked up from their webstore now.

Roman Marching Fort - Empires At War

Roman Marching Fort // Empires At War

Each of Forts can be picked up from Empires At War in their component parts or as one large "Starter Fort" which would be good for someone looking to set up something on their new gaming table. Mick Nichol of the Border Reivers Wargames Society researched and designed these kits which show off the efficient way in which the Romans would have set up camp when marching through recently captured territory.

Timber Stockade Fort - Empires At War

Timber Stockade Fort // Empires At War

These Forts would have been erected by Romans at the end of a long days marching showing off just how dedicated they were to their soldiering. Once they resumed their march they would dismantle these forts to prevent them being taken and controlled by the enemy.

The options here allow you to make a fort which sits out in the middle of the tabletop or along the edge of a map to show the edge of a camp. A typical fort would have four gates for example to allow for easy access and a means of escape! Additional sections can be snapped up from their webstore to allow for this.

Do you like these new Forts?
