Defend Your Means Of Communication With TTCombat
January 8, 2020 by brennon
TTCombat has got back into the swing of things with another preview of what's coming in terms of terrain soon. Here we're looking at some big Gothic terrain pieces which would be well worth protecting as you're setting up armies on the tabletop.
The first terrain set is this Radar Silos which might get set up across the tabletop for you to defend in earnest. If you're going to be battling on some far-flung world then you need a way to communicate and so protecting these from an attack should be a priority.
If you're a clever commander then you might have made sure that these Radar Silos are protected by an equal amount of Gun Silos.
I really like the idea of including these as gameplay elements which actually have an effect on the battlefield situation. You could have these guns switch sides depending on who controls the area around them, able to swing them about to take down vehicles, walkers and flyers should you want to expend your units traditional activation. It would be fun doing this to give forces who don't have access to big guns a great leveller.
Finally, and perhaps also defended by these Gun Silos, they also showed off the Fortified Pulpit. Now that would work well alongside the likes of the Adepta Sororitas who are releasing soon.
This terrain piece can either be assembled as one complete structure (like you can see above) or split up so that it can cover more ground. You can take apart the Building and Dais sections allowing you to make room for things like statues and the like in the grounds before it.
With the grimdark future being more enticing than ever, could these terrain pieces be finding their way into your collection?

Nah… way to grimdark…. doesn’t fit Legion and is to big for BattleTech
I think the Fortified Pulpit is certainly too grimdark but the guns and comms relay would work pretty well for Legion. There’s nothing overtly Gothic about them.
The pointy arches on the base. Those are IMHO to Gothic. And to remove them is a bit of work. Plus I don’t like the radar dish or the gins very much. Some shapes just don’t lend themselves very well to MDF. But that’s personal 😉
I’m with you there; MDF doesn’t really work well for guns, rounded shapes, or things with a lot of detail like the power plants on the guns.
They look good especially the guns and scanner the balcony would work for dictators to preach over his subjects.
