Deep-Cut Studio Lay Down New Road & River Stripes
January 2, 2019 by brennon
Deep-Cut Studio is laying the groundwork for settlements to be built with a new array of 'stripes' which can be used to show roads and rivers on the tabletop.
These new Stripes come in Cobblestone, Dirt and River designs and can be used to lay out the way for roads, pathways and waterways on the tabletop. Whilst the designs are all straight you could easily cut some of these up yourself to try and make different patterns.
The roads themselves could be cut to form grids, making the way between different aspects of a city or village. The River might be a little harder to turn into something that looks naturally flowing but it would work as a man-made canal system perhaps.
A lot of different scenarios out there require you to have a river so as long as you weren't too precious about its winding course it could be a good addition to a game mat.
All these things help to make building a tabletop that little easier and get you gaming quicker too.
What do you think of their new stripes?

I guess with some creative cutting you can curves and Y section.
I have a version of this from another company, they’re excellent, but you have to be prepared for the noticeable cut mark on it. The price you pay for storage and transportation.
The River Stripe interests me,it’ll be going onto my purchase list.
I just found these last night! They look amazing. We own two Deep-Cut mats and love them!
Looks nice. Not sure i’d want to cut it for smaller mats or even put a 6′ straight road all the way across…
My only gripe is they are designed to be kept at that width… for small scales they look from the pictures provided to be too fat (something I am far to aware of). If they were a more consistent hue then they wouldn’t be as pretty, but could then be spliced in Twain for more road than any sane war gamer could need – whatever that abomination looks like!
Ooh a handy addition to get.
