PlastCraft Games’ Color-ED Fukei Terrain Collection Grows!
February 6, 2017 by brennon
PlastCraft continues to grow their ColorED range of terrain which includes a selection of pre-coloured pieces for a variety of games. The latest crop is for the Fukei line which works for Zenit Miniatures' Kensei and Torii.
The collection includes a new series of tower-like structures as well as the massive wall that you see here and its gatehouse.
The wall, its towers and the accompanying gatehouse are some impressive pieces of terrain and really show how far PlastCraft are pushing things when it comes to their designs.
It's nice that you get some of the defensive sections of the walls interior in with the selection. They've also got some nice sloped and curved pieces included with this too to make sure that it doesn't look as boxy as you might have thought.
Another important thing to mention with these kits is that PlastCraft has now started to include HDF alongside the PVC that the kits are normally made of. This means that they have been able to include a degree of laser etching to their terrain pieces for added detail.
When included as part of a larger tabletop landscape, where you could cap the ends of this wall off with some rocky cliffs for example, you could create a fantastic place for a siege.
Tower Time
There are three different designs of tower that you will be able to pick up. Some of them are a little rustic looking like this one here. It could be a simple tower included alongside the side of a well-worn road by travellers.
This one here looks like it would fit in with the existing range that exists from PlastCraft. So, if you're looking to add some more defensive structures to a village or temple district this would be pretty good.
Lastly, we have this more open looking structure which is rather large! It could prove to be a good way to break up some lines of sight and offer up a few opportunities for rooftop combat too.
As mentioned before these buildings are useful for both the Kensei and Torii range from Zenit Miniatures so you can use them for both their skirmish game AND their mass battle range too. Walls work in both cases, and the towers could even work as objectives in a game with smaller forces.
Now all you need to do is work out the kind of tabletop landscape you're going to build around these towers and the wall. I like the idea of a rather war-torn battlefield, something inspired by the recent Ubisoft video game, For Honor, where you make these towers and the wall part of a desperate defence.
What do you think of these terrain pieces?

That just looks fantastic. I just want to have that set. I sadly don’t have any game to use it for. Reminds me of shogun 2 total war a bit.
Why not Kensei or Torii? Torii is a skirmish game from Zenit, using Kensei’s miniatures, and you do not need a big investment.
The book is about to be released next Month, but you can find a beta version of the rules on the website. http://torii.miniaturasywargames.com/.
For Kensei is being created a new rule set as well, a beta will be released also in March. Both system will be connected, so you can easily swap from one to another, using the same army lists.
Very cool terrain that will work in any far east campaign
Re-enact Kill Bill end scene, you’ve gotta fight off the Crazy 88 and O-Ren Ishii before the water fountain hits 10 knocks. (10 turns)
I really want this awesome looking set … and it could be an excuse to finally start with kensei, bushido or some other japanese themes games.
Wish there was a modern version of the L5R tabletop *G*
Yes! L5A was just awesome, my favorite fantasy-Asia by far!
Could be used for wrath of kings , 7tv , doctor who
Does anybody know when will their 10mm Dropzone Commander terrain be available?
not sure but I got some at Invasion the other week… its great 🙂
Actually I can see using some of the smaller arch/Tori in BA in PTO as well.
Wow! I think this will be amazing for Warlord Games Test of Honour
Was thinking the same thing – this is perfectly timed!
Can’t wait to see it in person, will be great for setting up Forts.
Damn, this looks awesome.
This would also be great for Infinity Yu Jing.
These will work great for Ronin!
looks brilliant.
Or warlord games new test of honour
Stunning stuff 😎
This should work very well for Bushido as well!
can’t remember the name of a cool range of samurai…. it isn’t kensei and i’m not sure it’s an already live range… I guess there was a render of 2 rows of samurai with some repetitions….
can you help me remember it?
that looks so good, I would love to own it. looks real good out of the box and you could pimp it out at your leisure.
Bushido, Infinity, Malifaux (Ten Thunders quarter?)… Very nice.
This PlastCraft scenery can be a bit fragile and is easily battered and damaged especially in a club situation (name scenery that isn’t?), so make sure you have decent storage boxes to keep it safe.
Ok found it! It’s the upcoming titanforge’s samurai wargame!
I just recieved the Dojo from this range and I’m quite happy with the looks. Looks quite good ready out of the box. Touch up the edges and add some weathering and it will look awesome.
Ronin has already been mentioned and we also gonna use it with Dragon Rampart for bigger scenarios.
